Default Anyone go to Americade at Lake George last week?

Anyone else go to Americade at Lake George last week?

Can't say I saw any other M50's there, but it sure was fun. Thousands of bikes and lots of cool stuff. Took part in several great rides and bought some great stuff from the vendors.

What a beautiful area up there at Lake George, NY. That was a very well run rally. People were reasonably well behaved and services were easy to get when needed.

Heres a shot take by my passenger of some of the bikes parked on Beach Road.

If you are within riding distance definitely check it out next year.

Great....then meet me on your way up. I'll gladly make the trip up to Lake George!

I'm embarrassed to say what I did instead this weekend. Getting chills just thinking about it.

LOL....yeah....like that would matter.

I may never be the same again...I'm damaged goods from here on in.

Don't ask me anything further...I'm trying to purge it from my mind as best I can. Yes, I will be using drugs to help things along.

I was there as well. I pulled into a field full of a thousand bikes, parked right behind an m50, same color as mine. First one I had ever seen the same color as mine...

Cool. I was parked on the edge of that field!

At least we weren't shoe shopping like some others might have been.

My wife and I go every year; we're about 100 miles north of Lake George. One of our travel buddies took a bunch of pictures and burned them to CD for me. I'll post when I get a chance.

I'm sure I saw at least a half dozen M50's. I even saw 3 other 2005 C50LEs like mine. They all asked where I got the cool driver's backrest. One was lowered, and had some kind of semi-ape hanger bars & a half-height wind screen. I didn't care for it, but hey, it was his bike.

We stayed for Friday & Saturday. The fireworks were great, and downtown was crazy Saturday nite. I got passed in the stop -and- go traffic by a guy riding a GSXR. His passener/girlfriend was riding safely -- she had chaps on over her thong.

Highlights at the award ceremony -- oldest rider was 91, on a GoldWing 1800. Oldest couple had a combined age of 161, on a GoldWing Trike.

A gal dropped a Victory Hammer during a demo ride. It was at a stop to pull out into the main road; she really just laid it down because it was too heavy. She wasn't hurt, but the bike sure was.

Saw lots of these at the event as well. Interesting concept, and a 990cc rotary motor should have lots of get up and go. I didn't get a chance to ride one.

Also met a guy who spent $65,000 buying and customizing his '06 HD Road King. Yikes.

More later when I post pics

These three pics were taken at the main expo site on the lake shore. The first is a panorama, made by stitching a couple pix together. These were taken on Friday afternoon. The parking area pictured here is in addition to what you can see in Shmedly's picture, and doesn't take into account all the bikes that were on the road or parked along the city streets.

Saturday afternoon, there was at least half again as many bikes there.

These two are on the lighter side. Notice the license plate on that little bike. From West Virginia to upstate New York. The other is the part of our group that stayed. My wife is on the right, our friend Debbie is on the left. Another friend (Jay) was taking the pictures. Unfortunately, he had to leave that evening, but hopefully he'll be staying a couple days next year.

BTW, the three of us that stayed are officially designated on the Americade registration as "Bud's harem". My wife's idea.

Default Went to Americade

I attended Americade this year. I rode in on sunday and left the following sunday. It was a great time like usual, the weather sure did cooperate although it was a bit steamy saturday and sunday. They have lots of pics posted here BikerEventPhotos.com maybe they got you? I got a shot taken of me during a tour of Lake Sacandaga, what a nice ride.

Ten of us rode from MI to Bar Harbor ME and planned to hit Americaide on our return trip. We reluctantly had to pass, 2 bikes in our group would not have made it thru the noisy pipes ban. We weren't aware of the noise policy in spite of folks saying they have used it for a couple years already.
