I had the pleasure of scraping the 250 i was on during the MSF course a few times in the 180 degree turn they had set up. Luckily that prepared me for my first scrape this past weekend taking an on ramp to the highway....i knew what was happening, so i didn't panic, and just enjoyed the fact i had the bike over that far and was in complete control.....

Not sure how far I leaned the Victory Kingpin (100 cubic inch engine). It didn't feel that much and I was scrapping the left floor board. Fortunately, I was the last one in a demo group ride so the dealer riders didn't see me.

First reaction was, what the f*#%, because I really didn't think I leaned it far enough. But then again, I had just finished some canyon runs on my SV when I arrived at the dealership....

I constantly drag my heels while turning.

I know a guy who can sling his 1800 Goldwing around like you wouldn't believe.
We rode the Dragon and other great roads up that way and he amazed me.
Sure I heard him scrub but didn't effect him........Great Rider
Have forward controls on my M50, didn't scrub all weekend, I did scrub my left heel once on the Dragon........I figure if I scrub the forwards, I'm in trouble

Just got to figure out how much is too much. Floorboards that flip up and the scrape indicators are great. Highway bars and hard parts are not.

I know this is an old thread but I just had to post that yes you can scrape. I had the pleasure of scraping my floorboards today. Surprisingly it didn't seem to be that much of a lean.

On the other hand, I have never been able to scrape the pegs on my bike. I used to think that it was because I wasn't leaning enough, which may still be true, but even when I lean a decent lean...nothing. See picture below: on these same roads, my friends in front and behind were scraping their pegs. My guess is that it has to do with ground clearance - my bike having more than theirs.

That's not very much of a lean.

I scraped the pegs for the first time a couple weeks ago. The part that scared me the most was it was my new bike, then the fact my boot was scraping. I was on the inside of a roundabout, so I just adjusted my line farther out. When I got to where I was going, I saw that my kickstand was scraped too.

Took a M109 for a test ride in the twisties 2 weeks ago - easy to lean far enough to scrape.

BIke has plenty of traction in reserve!.

It is a decent lean, but the road has a significant bank in that corner. He'd be close to scraping on a level road. However, it's mentally easier to lean on a steeply banked road, so he might not go that far otherwise.

For reference, the shot in my avatar measures about 40* in Photoshop. You can see the daylight under my footpeg. It measures about 10 degrees from level (the peg, not my foot). I've had both pegs on the ground, so presumably I've been to about 50*. I don't have the guts to go much further anyway.
