Default 1997 marauder 800

Hi,
Im new at street bikes so bear with me. I wanted a cheap cruiser and found a 1997 suzuki marauder 800 and bought it, looks nice. Wondering if these were good reliable bikes in 1997/ I know the thing is a little too loud. Anyone know about the reliability?
thanks!

Thumbs up

Too loud? The pipes have probably been drilled out or replaced with aftermarket straight pipes because the stock muffler on the Marauder is pretty quiet.

Marauders are good, reliable bikes with a little maintenance. I put 7k on one before selling it, all I did were tires, oil changes and minor cable and chain adjustments. If you take good care of it a 'rauder will run for at least 100k, maybe further, they're great bikes.

Welcome and congrats. I just got my Marauder a few months ago. Great bike, gets 50 mpg all the time. So far mine has been realiable, some of the other guys may have more miles on the Marauder saddle than I do and can speak from experience.

A good bike with a good reputation for reliability.
