| Well after much research, reading and surfing I took the Harley plunge last weekend. Tried out some of the bikes at Harley Ride Day put on by the local dealer and never looked back since. In about 2 weeks should take delivery of my new gleaming black Street Glide (FLHX). This is one sweet streamlined machine. Have had 1-1/2 years of bliss from my C50T and have enjoyed making it into a real dressed up machine. I guess because of all the special touches the C50T sold in 5 minutes from posting an ad. I'm glad to pass it on to a very lucky new owner next week. She will be missed but I feel that I must move on ..... although with much less money in the bank after getting the tally for the Harley. You only live once, so what the heck. Hope to be still welcomed at this forum and to stay in touch. Thanks to all those who have offered help and insight on the many issues discussed here. Safe riding and enjoy the summer. |

| I can't help but think that "plunge" is indeed the most suited word for it. Congrats. I hope it proves to be worth it for you.

| Was a bit hesitant at first because of the greater weight, but didn't feel any difference in handling from perspective of weight and balance. Being a larger and heavier bike the ride seemed more stable and less affected by roughness on pavement. Certainly more power and much less shifting required; can easily push to 60km/h in 1st, likely never get out of 3rd since it's good for 90+km/h with 3 more gears to spare. I just enjoyed the vibe of the bike and the extra torque. Originally sold on the styling and comfort after spending a couple of hours in the showroom trying various bikes. Before ride day narrowed my choice to Street Glide and Road King Std. Road king felt a bit more nimble on the ride, I guess since no added weight of fairing, but the Glide sure was smoother and loved the batwing fairing with the white gauges and crazy stereo/CD setup. Also really enjoyed having no windshield while getting very little wind to the face due to fairing & 4" shield combination. If you get a chance to attend ride day at your local HD dealer, do yourself some justice and just take one or two for a ride, it's really a wonderful experience. One thing I learned already that HD accessories are a killer, already into 3K and I don't even have the 8 million page catalog yet. I must add that my C50T is a most worthy motorcycle in it's own right and for the cost is truly the bargain of a lifetime. Whatever you ride enjoy each trip.

| Congrats on the new ride. I never found a bike I didn't like, but there sure is something about those Harley's.
