Default Cobra vs Power Commander

So has anyone used both of these modules? I have an 07 C90 and have been looking at the power Commander III usb for $260 shipped then I recently saw the Cobra Fi something for like $160,,,, what are the differences? Is one better than the other?
I am planning on adding aftermarkket pipes and probably airfilter too, but I figure I better get one of these guys first...

thanks,

I had the Cobra 2000FI on my 2005 Vulcan Classic 1600 for around a year. Although it helped the performance, I couldn't get the 3 pots adjusted to help the fuel mileage increase. My stock mileage was around 40-42 MPG. After I added the V&H pipes, Cobra processer and BAK, the mileage dropped to around 34 MPG. I expected the mileage to drop with the added gain of HP and allowing the bike to breath, but when I was "twisting the throttle" hard, the mileage was less than 30 MPG. Since I've added the Power Commander and map, the performance is even better, with excellent throttle response. The best part is the mileage is back around 40 MPG again, and only drops to 36 MPG when running the bike hard. For my 2 cents, the pluses are well worth the higher cost.

With the Power Commander, you get software that allows you to use your home computer to make almost infinite adjustments to your fuel/air mixture. The Cobra is,,,,ah,,,, well let's just say it's a bit less sophisticated.

I just installed a Cobra Fi2000 EFI Tuner and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Everything that Cobra claims the Fi2000 will do, it does. Better throttle response, more power, better gas mileage. I'm really satisfied with the results,,,, and it only took about 15 minutes to install.

I am planning buying the PCIII, from all that I have read in the long run I will get the best results with it. Better hp/tq increase and best mpg.

Yeah, it looks like the commander III usb. I plan on keeping my C90 for at least a few years and from what i have read it seems like it will easily remap to whatever I do to the bike. Best price I have found so far is $165 shipped....

Wow, where can you get it at that price ? That's a real bargain.

I have Power Commanders on two of my bikes, and I feel they are the best way to go, but they are quite a bit more money, and not just for the origional investment, maping may come into play too.
If you can find a map off there data base that works for you, all is good, but if you need to have a custom map done, it,s going to cost you between $250, to $500.
My experience is that you have about a 25% chance of getting a free download that works for your bike, and that's still not going to be perfect.
No two bikes are the same, even if they have all the same equipment on them, so most people opt for a cuctom map.
Than if you make any future changes to your bike, you have to get it maped again.
So the cost of the PC is only going to be about half of your full investment.
