Default Got it to operating temperature today.

Got in a 87 mile ride today. Man,,,, I'm here to tell you that C50 is a great bike, smooth, great acceleration, cruising effortlessly 70-75 mph on I-70. Had to get it in while the weather was good. Cold front coming in through this area tomorrow, rain Thurday and Friday and a mix precipitation Saturday with below normal temps. Typical March in western Maryland.

Canadian American? So you had to go the extry mile and join the corps to get rid of any temptations to run from trouble?

Oh yeah, there's a big C50 thread around here somewhere. Trying to avoid it myself, too tempting to buy one.

I like the fact the c50 has shaft drive, I like the size of the displacement.

As a matter of fact, my 1980 Yamaha xs850 has a similar displacement, a bit more power (so yamaha claimed) and shaft drive. Although at 42 k (and 27 years) some liddle snag in the shaft drive operation went wacky.

So if you can manage 40 k with minimal maintenance between any work, shaft drive is a good choice.

That canadian american part i find a bit amusing, though.

Now, now, there are pluses and minuses to everything

In the U.S. you are more likely to be killed by being shot

In Canada, you are more likely to be froze to death.

In the U.S. you are more likely to be mugged/ robbed

In Canada you pay higher taxes.

In the U.S. you have more rednecks

In Canada the cold keeps the rednecks out.

I think that's a tie.

I would really like to see a breakdown of taxes, fees and so on of a typical Canadian vs U.S. citizen (didn't say American, because we are all North American, last time I checked, which would be about 1982).

If you taxes on booze are too high, brew your own wine. I've been known to (but wine is too cheap here $10 for 5 liters, I'm sorry I can't match the price and consistency of product). But if booze is expensive, brew your own, and get out the 5 gallon buckets.

the booze is kinda high, but the real kicker is that a lot of goods are still 1.6 times more expensive than in the USA. last time i checked, our dollar was a bit stronger than that - and has been for a few years now.

income tax? around 30%.
sales tax? at least 6%, up to 14% (depends on province) ---- can you say 'double-dipping' ?
healthcare is subsidized, though

Okay, if it makes you feel any better, Federal income tax is right around 20 %, and 7.65 % for social security, and being Wisconsin (the state where I reside, and the value varie a lot) income tax of at least 11 %. So at least 38 % kit and kaboodle. Unless you are earning above X, in which case your state tax will get hit at like 17 %.

So we both pay close the same amount in taxes, although your goods cost more for whatever reason. Although if they taxed booze too high, there'd be a big crock (literallly a crock, that's what they're called, no kiddin') making wine by bucket full. 20 Liter buckets.

We buy guns, you buy nationalized health care. Our health care is going up double or triple the rate of economic growth. With the growth predicted for this year (bad) health care costs could easily exceed economic growth by 6 - 7 times as fast.

I hold dual citizenship. I was born in St-Hyacinthe, Québec. Joined the US Marines in 1962, in fact quite a few Canucks were in the Marines when I was in. Americans(some) were going to Canada to avoid the service and Canadians(some) came in the US to join the service. Well how 'bout that? So I am a true Canadian/American, or a true North American.
