Default Yamaha 650 v-star classic debaffle??

Hello all you motorcycle lovers. I'm new to this site but wanted to say hi to everyone and to ask a simple question. My wife has a Yamaha 650 v-star and I was wandering if there is any way possible to debaffle her exhaust without hurting the system. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks, bummer.

My buddy debaffled his V-Star 650 Classic and to be honest it sounded like crap. The only one that thought they sounded good was the owner of the bike and he’s one of those guys who rev’s his engine at the stop lights and going through town. With the atrocious sound coming from those pipes I was almost embarrassed to be riding with him since he drew so much attention to himself.

I suggest going aftermarket for an exhaust or just leave them alone.

My g/f bought the cobra pipes instead of modifying her stock pipes.

I drilled out the end caps (about 8 holes 1/4" dia.) It was loud and obnoxious, wouldn't suggest doing that, cackles alot also. I've heard the V&H's crusiers and they sounded nice, much better than Cobra drags.

Very much agreed. I have Vance & Hines pipes on my Mean Streak and they sound great. But my g/f cobras..not sure which ones she has. But I like the sound of them. Not as loud as my V&H but nice with the baffs.
