Default Charging Volts

Hello, I have a 1998 suzuki intruder 1500 it has always had a charging thing. It now (at rest key off) shows 12.17volts, when just ideling its at 12.25volts(not good) as sonn as i give it gas it drops back to 12.17 volts? Help any i deals? Jimmmattos@pacbell.net

Have a mechanic check your charging system, it should be charging at about 13 volts, if it's not, you probably are in need of a new alternator.

thanks I think i found it, i plug not not completely seated, fixed and now at 13.58 volts..............thanks....................Jim
