Default cough or pop

well i have 06 R* 1700 and will take it in for the 600 mile check.
I have noticed that on decelaration from 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd and so forth there seems to be a cough or pop coming from the bike .
Also if setting still .like at a light you get ready to leave and give it a little rev and it coughs or pops ??
I will try to describe this to the dealer , any ideas ???

Sounds like it may be running lean, mine was doing that and I had the carbs turned 1/4 turn 'richer'. Helped a lot.

Thumbs up

Not sure, but the 06 is probably fuel injected, so you can't just "turn the screw" on the carb and viola! If your bike is totally stock, you will want to take it back to the dealership and let them correct the factory settings. If your bike has aftermarket performance upgrades, you can have the dealership or a performance shop that has computer maps upgrade the bike's computer settings to make it run properly. This may involve something as involved as a "custom map", but it'd be worth it. You'd see better performance, efficiency, and even better mpg.
