Default Better pads and shoes.

I own a 2006 C50 and love just about everything about it. But, I do dislike the brakes. Any recommendations on replacement pads and shoes that will greatly improve the braking performance of this beast? Thanks for the info.

MARRY CHRISTMAS AND A GREAT NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS.

Sintered brake pads, and stainless steel brake lines for the front disks should help. I haven' got any first hand experience with this set up, but everything they say in there ads sounds good.

As set of EBC Double-H Sintered pads up front will improve braking power dramatically. Part number FA231HH, about $29. Stainless lines are nice, and do show an improvement, but my personal opinion is that it is not enough of an improvement to make them worth the cost unless your stock ones are due to be replaced anyways. Also, Suzuki recommends that the brake fluid be changed every now and then. I do mine once a year, as the fluid breaks down over time and the brakes don't work as well anymore. Use DOT 4 brake fluid, as that is what is in there from the factory and the different kinds don't mix. If you want to upgrade, use DOT 5.1 synthetic and completely drain, then flush the system before filling and bleeding. Do not ever use DOT 5 in a Suzuki cruiser, which will eat the rubber gasket in the master cylinder.
In the back, just make sure the drum brake is adjusted correctly. Aftermarket replacement shoes are not noticably better than stock, so they are not worth the effort and cost until the OEM ones wear out at 50,000 miles or so.

No, those are the EBC Double-H Sintered pads, part number FA231HH. Most local shops carry them, or any online vendor like cruisercustomizing, bikebandit, or J&P Cycles should have them. Or do a Google search for "EBC motorcycle brakes". A lot of Suzuki dealers will carry them also, as even the dealers admit Suzuki OEM brake pads suck.

Default FItted Braided lines

Fitted these, and they alone make a great difference. The performance is the same, but the feel is heaps better.

A very cheap and worthwhile improvement.
I won't be adding better pads until these are worn out.
