Default Looking for a lift for RSTD

My old knees don't bend so good anymore. I need something to lift that 850lbs monster RSTD up a bit for me so's I can change my own oil, check the tire pressure and shine up all that chrome I spend my money on. Any ideas?

Sears has motorcycle lift, it comes on sale for $69-79 often.
Regular around $139-159.

I am not sure if Walmart has one, I know Canadian Tire does.

Thanks,
I know they do, however, the RSTD has 3 tabs on the bottom which seem to prevent those types of lifts from working. I was hoping to find someone with a workable solution.

Yes it is, most of the time I don't bother using the straps that are supplied. It' a 2 person operation in my home I hold the bike up and the wife rolls it under into position and operates the foot controls, either going up or coming down.

I have the Sear's one, Harbor freight sells one that looks pretty good also.

The only tip overs I've heard of, didn't involve not using the straps, I never use them either. It happened when a friend left his bike up on the stand over night, over night turned into 3 nights, and when he opened the garage door, his bike was laying on it's side next to the stand. He had not put the locking legs down, and the hydraulic jack's on those things don't have the best seals, so it just slowly lowered the bike till it tipped over.
I use mine all the time, in fact it stays under the bike all winter to keep the weight off the tires, and suspension.

FYI
On the Sear's unit if you don't raise the bike high enough to engage the locking slots, Which I don't because it raises the bike too high for me , you can unclip the handle and place it between the frame of the jack and the lifting arms, there is a circular cut out on the frame where the handle can be inserted across the jack. So if the seals leak over time it will not completey come down and will keep the bike from falling.

Bought a Big Red 1500lb capacity bike jack at Pep Boys for $69.00 w/$20.00 rebate. Fits my C50T (I was worried about the clearance) and the bike is very stable on the lift. Very happy with it.

Ok I took the cover off so I could take some pictures of the bike and the jack. The bike been on the jack for about 3 weeks now. First have some one site on the bike and center it. the have that person stand because the lowest the jack will go down is 5 inches. Center the jack on the bottom frame, slowly pump bottle jack until jack stop has been passed. The first jack stop is about 10 to 12 inches. Engage the stop and release the jack bottle pressure. Jack will go down and rest on the stop.
With this setup I've change the oil and filter. Installed brake pads in front and rear ( I think the rear's are real easy but We'll leave that for another thread) , Changed the fuild on all the lines and bleed them. Removed fake panel and speedometer (pain in butt) replaced spark plug's and air filter. Remove OEM windsheild the wrong way (another pain in But and reinstalled) Cleaned the whole bike with 3 coats of wax. (Ready for the spring, CAN"T WAIT) and moved the bike around.
With the jack into one of it's locked oposition the bike feels secure. I would not go over the second lock postion.
Thus the bike will be there on the stand for a while.

How is the quality of the unit? I have been looking at one at Sears. They have a cheap one that got horrable reviews, 130.00 anda yellow one that got rave reviews 160.00 or so.

Default bike jack

I bought mine at sam's club for about 90, it's red, they no longer carry that model, and I don't remember the mfger. But, it has the lock levers at several differen't heights, not just at the top, I left my intruder on it for over a week in the past. Haven't had the M on it yet though, will soon. But, for some that don't have the lock levers, if it has a cross member between the lift, use a regular car jackstand underneath it, that would keep it from oozing any lower. BTW, I always use 4 tiedowns no matter how long or short of time the job I'm doing is.
