I don't know what a 'batter box' is, but you might try some copper RTV as a gasket.

I have not had good luck with the copper RTV, as the head pipe gets too hot and the stuff just melts out. The factory "gasket" between the head pipe and the stock muffler is a metal connector, part number 14771-30E00, about $12 each, one on each side.
However, I do not know if the Cobra slip ons use this stock connector or not. You might pull a clamp off and check. If not, new clamps are probably needed.

That's a much better answer.

As mentioned in the other post, the stock mufflers use a metal spacer there as a gasket. From the looks of it, the stock spacer is not used with the cobra exhaust.
Try cutting up a beer can, making a couple of strips almost as wide as the clamps, and long enough to wrap around the pipe. Re-assemble the exhaust using the metal strips to make the clamps squeeze tighter.

If that doesn't do it, find someone with a wire welder (local muffler shop?) and have them run a bead around the inner pipe, where it slips inside the other pipe. Then use a file to slowly work the bead down intil it can just barely be fit inside the other pipe, using a hammer and block of wood to press fit it. Re-install the clamp, and you shouldn't have any more leaks.
