| Well some of you might know my story by now. I bought a new C50 two weeks ago. My first bike. Being very new to biking, I have limited myself to traveling mostly in and around town since I got the bike. I figured I needed to learn to handle stops, pull-aways, traffic lights, intersections, turning and leaning, humps and bumps, and of course masses of cars and pedestrians, before I set out on the highways. At this point I have to say that the C50 was really a great choice. If any of you are new and wondering what bike to get to introduce you to cruising - then the C50 has everything you need. After only a couple of times on the bike, I have gained great confidence and learned a lot already. Suffice to say that the bike is easy to learn, and friendly to beginners. It is really a comfortable ride, and now that I’ve gotten a bit more used to the throttle, brakes, and gear ratios, I can truly say that it is a very balanced engine and makes for a smooth ride. And just before you think that it is a beginner’s bike only, let me be quick to tear that perception from your mind. I have, for obvious reasons not played with the power of the bike, but I am no beginner when it comes to experiencing and “sensing” power from other kinds of vehicles. I can feel that there are some un-saddled horses below me when I drive my C50. And from what I have heard from others here, many of these horses only come out to play once the bike has done 1 or 2 thousand miles. On top of that, it has the looks to fool just about anyone. Easily mistaken for an 1100/1400 bike, you will look the part from day one, if that is what you are looking for. The finishes on the bike is excellent. It is right up there with any of the “expensive” brands. Plenty of chrome, that classic cruiser-look, and a “fatness” that slides it into the “bigger” cruiser category. The smooth finish is rounded off with some very conspicuous bolts every now and then, which really gives it a wild, untamed look. Then there is the matter of the price. If you are sensitive to price, like me, then this bike fits the bill like no other. Easily the most affordable 800cc cruiser on the market. Perhaps a tad more expensive than some 650’s, but then again, that is an extra 150cc difference that we are talking about. The C50 Boulevard has given me a “soft landing” into the world of cruisers, and biking for that matter. The price-tag is sensible, and after my local dealer knocked another 8% off the tag, I am convinced that I got more bang for my buck than anywhere else. I am eager to see where this road leads, but moreover, I am ecstatic, and privileged to ride it out… on a C50. Renier Last edited by renier8; 10-02-2006 at 11:07 AM. |

| I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm glad you're happy with the c50 decision. I know I am. Wait until you do some two up riding and you don't really notice much difference at all. That will show you how much torque it has.

| Great write up....after being away 30 sum years from biking and returning I have found that everything you have stated is true. As for two up don't worry she'll take it in spades. We knocked off 375 miles this last Saturday, comfortably I might add. A Mustang seat though is far supirior then the stock one.

| Nice write up. We all got to our metric cruisers by various ways. I love my C50 and came to it through 4 harleys and then about 20 years of not riding. Mortgage, kids, etc. For me is was the most motorcycle I could afford. I tried the Hondas, Kawasakis and Yamahas, but the C50 just fit me. I did a 2700 mile trip this fall. Thought I would trade up to a Victory or Harley if I really got the bug again..but since I don't care what others think, my riding is for me, I'm keeping the C50. I don't even think about the bike, it is all about the road and the reliability. Clint
