| Well, I hate to keep whipping a dead horse, but I do have a question about after market exhausts-I bought an '06 C50 in april, and I'm thinking about changing the pipes to the V&H cruisers. I know I would would have to have my FI re-mapped, but why would I have to buy a power commander, or similar unit, if the re-mapping is a one shot thing? I asked my local Suzuki stealer the same question, and the service guy said they could do the re-mapping, and I didn't really need to buy the power commander unit-so, my question is, if the re-mapping is a one time thing, why do I need to spend the money on the power commander, or do I?

| Some of us went the TFI control way because we could not find a dealer with the ability\equip. to remap, others went this route as it gives them the ability to adjust themselfs. If you are going to aftermaket pipes I would do a K&N aircleaner and the remap. Thats my 2 cents. I have a K&N and Techclusion FI and am happy with the stock pipes. |

| I asked a mechanic about this the other day and he told me that most shops will tell you that you need a re-mapping when you get a custom exhaust but it has been his experience that 80% of the time its not needed. He suggests running it and seeing how things are going before getting the bike re-mapped.
