| Has anyone ever heard of this before? Sounds interesting...as opposed to gas companies putting alcohol in the gas. Acetone In Fuel Said to Increase Mileage

| There are plenty of antidotal stories about increased gas mileage from adding a tiny amount of acetone to a tank of fuel, but no one has ever been able to prove that it works in a controlled scientific test.

| Seat Tester | Me personally I would not fool around with adding anything to my gas... I get 48+mpg on my bike and do not feel that it’s worth taking a risk with the damage that could possibly happen with long term use of products that will give you a .00001 boost in MPG if you’re that concerned keep your bike waxed... just my $.02

| Refrigerator Magnet Test Engineer ![]() | I used to work for a printing company and we used acetone to clean the press plates. I would dry out the latex gloves we used and caused them to crack. I can't imagine what it would do to rubber gaskets and seals, not to mention the hoses. I would stay away from it.
