| New to the Forum. I posted this over on The Boulevard and thought I would try it here and maybe get a few more responses in addition to the helpful and encouraging responses I got there. Time for my mid...no, late life crisis. Have not ridden in 25 years, but used to ride all the time. Hondas, Kawasakis, BMW. I am looking at the M50, Honda Aero 750 and Yamaha VStar (650). Leaning towards the M50 at this point. Convince me it is the right choice. Please. |

| I also looked at the honda, my dealer sells it also, he sugjested the m because it is shaft drive and fuel injected, where as the honda was chain and carb, so no chain to lube and adjust, just start the m and warm up a bit and go, no choke to fool with, or carbs to tinker with. Just me 2 cents hope it helps.

| To be honest, when I started to get the idea of buying a bike again after 20 odd years without one I was looking at the Honda Shadow Spirit. I loved the way the bike looked but after doing more research I came to the conclusion that I would be better off with the M50. Forget the V-Star 650 , just too underpowered for highway and 2 up riding, although it is a smashing looking bike and if you are just doing local one up cruising I'm sure it would be fine. The Suzuki has more get up and go the the Honda but if the little extra oomph is not a big deal for you then either of the bikes would be a good choice , just that I would take the M50 personaly. Mind you I love the V-Star 1300 !!! Someone has posted cruiser comparrison charts in the cruiser forum, they are well worth a look. http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...on-charts.html

| In Training ![]() | The m50 is a wonderful bike. I personally think it's a very unique ride. I never see another one when I'm out and about on mine. You can't beat the amount of bike you get for the price, there is a good, growing number of available modifications, it is a very very low maintenance bike....I know I made the right choice. And it's a great performing bike too, great for new riders or experienced....if you make the decision to go with the m50, you'll be glad you did.

| Out of the three would lean towards the M50 mainly because I'll never own another bike that isn't fuel injected and will never own another bike with "spoker" wheels. However I disagree that the VStar (650) is underpowered for highway and 2 up riding. The only thing underpowered on the VStar is the brakes. But then that is true with most cruisers.

| Last time I checked (about 2 weeks ago) my dealer did not have any 07s yet and said they might not be in until the end of the year. I will check again when I get home. ( I work offshore). What are the changes on the 07s?

Front brake master cylinder, brake lever, clutch lever and handlebar switches feature an updated new design. Nothing other than that to my knowledge but I have a RED(fastest) '05 SuzukiŽ Cruiser Boulevard M50 Features
