Default Harley davisdon hard bags

I recently seen a 2003 Yamaha 650 V-Star Silverado with the Harley Hard Bags. However, I forgot what type of bags will fit. Does anyone out there know?

I have the hard bags on my Road King, but I have no Idea what brackets you would need to mount them on a V-Star, my guess would be that someone made ther own.

Thanks. I think I'll go with the Road King bags and I'm sure I'll figure away to mount them.

I'm not sure of the price of the HD hardbags but I just bought hardbags from Tsukayu. They have HD look-alikes as well as a number of different styles (Strong, Coner, Patrol). There are pix of each type of bag on various bikes (inculding on Harley's!), so you get a good idea of what they'll look like on. The Tsukayu's also mount a bit more flush than do others, so that's a nice touch, IMO.

All come with the hardware to mount to our bikes. I ordered the "Strong" hardbags. I paid $449 for the primered hardbags + $40 for the upgraded locks. Total of $489 shipped from overseas. You can also order them painted, with LED's, and with luggage racks. Takes 4-6 weeks to get. Tsukayu Motorcycle Hardbags

The HD bags are $800, with mounting brackets sold separate!

Daryl, were you able to keep the stock C50T backrest when you mounted the Strong hardbags? I'd want to keep that backrest and the OEM luggage rack I have now. Thanks for the info on Tsukayu. Any chance of posting pics?

Dave

Hi Dave:

I've not actually had the Tsukayu's mounted yet. I know for a fact that they WILL work with the backrest and luggage rack, because I am copying a bike that already has that same set-up. An acquaintance from another forum owns the bike that I am copying.

I've posted pix of the hardbags, but they're not mounted yet. You can see them here: http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...-new-post.html

I will post pix and run a new thread in the "custom mods" arena of that forum. I am waiting on jhallock (owner of the bike I'm copying) to finish the true duals mod he is fabricating for my bike before I mount the hardbags. I want the pipes on first so I can mount the hardbags as low as possible (for that "draggin' ass" look).

Best,
daryl
