Default Pony tank

Has any one out there heard of or tried the pony tank from Gmann industries for the c-90? I was thinking of getting one when I change out the stock exhaust. an extra 2.5 gallons would be cool.

I know of the G-Mann tanks for the "LC" 1500. I would assume it is the same thing. I keep contemplating getting one for my bike but the first thing I need to do is get the re-call finished. If you are a diehard rider and don't like stopping every 90 to 130 miles then it is a good idea. But if you generally stop at those intervals than it is a waste of money for you.

I would like to get one just as a security measure for road trips. But ususally I start looking for fuel at the 80 to 90 mile mark. From what I have seen from his products he has put alot of though into them.

Never heard of that and my quick search returned nothing!

G-man does a good job with these tanks. He has sold a lot of them, and none have ever come back with leaks or defects. I know a bunch of people who have them, and all are happy with them.

But again, if you normally stop every 100 miles anyway, you might want to save your money. I can go 250+ miles on a tank with my Harley, but I prefer to stop every 125-150, and my girlfriend's Intruder hits reserve at 105, so that big tank doesn't really do me much good.

I think the key here is do you want to stop for GAS at every one of those intervals. This was a huge issue for me when I had my LC. I rarely go more than 100 miles between stops, but it gets quite frustrating when you have to ADD stops for fuel in with other stops, or plan stops around fuel so many times.

For example, let's say you're going out on a nice day ride of 240 miles or so, and have a remote scenic stop you want to hit at 70 miles, then have a nice spot picked out for lunch at 140 miles, and maybe another scenic stop at 180. You'll not make your lunch stop without a fillup, and if gas is not available at your scenic stop, then you have to make another stop somewhere between starting and eating. If your lunch stop is not conveniently located near fuel, then you'll have to make another stop somewhere along the route back home, and as a general rule, you should always end your ride on a full tank to prevent moisture buildup inside the tank. So now, you've made a minimum of three stops for gas on your ride, and depending on the spread of available fuel stops, could be four stops by the time you park for the day. This gets old quick if you're a touring rider. That same ride, with a G-Tank, will require one stop during the ride and one before you park for the night. Leaving all your other stops free of the need for fuel.

Any bike as comfortable as the LC/Boulevard is for all day riding should already have the capacity for a 200 mile tank range, but so far, G-Man can't seem to convince Suzy of this.

I would sure like to have an extra 2 gallons for my M50. I dropped them an e-mail, and they said that there is no plan to make one for my bike. If anyone ever sees one for an M50 please post here to let me know.

Thank you and safe riding,
BlueMax

I like the G-Tank but I just am not convinced if I want the look of the switch under the ignition switch and I am not fully convinced if I feel comfortable drilling the hole into the filler neck hose. If there was a better way of doing it or if I could get a bigger tank under that seat I would.

I keep debating about it but so far the normal stops I have been doing is cool with me.

If you go to moccs place there used to be a link to G-Man industries. There you click on the G-Tank and it used to have installation information. Don't get me wrong,, it is a great idea,, one that Suzuki should've built into the design of the bike and G-Man has done great with his idea and it works fine,,, personally I am on the fence with whether I need it or not right now.
