Default $150.00 for 4K service?

As near as I can tell, the 4K service is an oil change and make sure everything is tightened up.

For $150.00?

As they say in the show... Deal, or no deal?

BTW: The bike is a 2006 C50.

If you are comfortable checking the bike over yourself and have friend or two that can check it over with you I would say no deal.

That being said, on my first bike I let the dealership do everything. I paid a ton for it, but I just didn't know a thing. I'm still learning as we all do. But the more you learn the more you can save.

Do you still have your owners manuel? Most mauels today make maitance very easy to understand and can walk you through the 4k service.

On a new bike I let the dealership do the service during the warranty period just to insure there isn't any dispute should something go wrong with the bike.
Then I double check everything on a regular basis. After the warranty expires I do it myself.
If you do it yourself keep all the receipts and detailed records.
Deal or no deal... It is up to you.

Very good advice!
Keeping receipts and detailed records is amazing information to have when the day come that you may want to trade or sell your bike.

Take care of the service yourself and save some money, It costs me $25 to take care of the oil and filter myself. The dealership just wants your money and wont go over every bolt.

The only thing I won't do is the valve adjustment - but my dealer does it for $50 so I'm not inclined to learn how...

The oil change is easier than a doing a car, $14 for oil and $10 for a filter since I use the $$$ fancy stuff. At 4000, you aren't replacing plugs, air filter, or doing a valve adjustment. $150 seems a bit high.

I should open a bike oil change garage!

You should pay them $250 for the privilege of having them work on your bike.
