| I was riding to a friend of mine when I had to swerve to miss a pot hot that I would still be falling in. All of a sudden, this little old lady decides to pull away from the curve. I just applied hard preasure to both brakes. she didn't even see me. I checked my six to make sure that no one was tailing me and all was clear. If she hit her brakes while she was pulling out, I would of hit her. Thank god she never looked back after starting that manuver. Once I knew that I was safe, I pulled the clutch and gave her some throttle, just to tell her that I was there. She took a quick right and I gave her the horn. I was worried that I would panick if/when that situation arrived. Everything just happened and I did the right thing at the right time. Shook me for a while but there is no deterant of me climbing back on. Just a reminder to pay close attention. Jim

| Also very glad you weren't hurt and avoided an accident. And I agree, it's a testament to your training, the good reaction you had. I have had a few, like most here have, and it gets the adrenaline going into hyperspeed. It also is a gut-check and a reminder to always, always, always pay attention and NEVER get too comfortable. Glad to hear you're not deterred and will climb back in the saddle right away. BTW, how's that S83? I darned near got that instead of my C50T. I couldn't believe an 83 cu. in. motor was on that bike! Yeah baby, yeah.... Stay safe, Daryl

| Thanks for all the support. The experience was a bit hairy, and I'm going out for a cruise in about an hour or so. Daryl, The S83 is great. I am supprised that more people here aren't riding them. It is the old Intruder if I'm understanding correctly, and heard nothing but great things about them, especially in this very forum. Lots of power, very comfortable, and just plain fun to ride. Jim

| that's what I understand too, Jim. The S83 is the old Intruder. Can't do too wrong with that... it's pretty much the bread-and-butter of the Suzuki line, right? Excellent choice!!! Hey, what happened to your Bruins? Them and my Av's are playin' golf instead of vying for Lord Stanley's Cup??? A cryin' shame I tell ya....

| I agree, All ways pay attention to where your going. Every now and then I catch my self day dreaming and have to snap out of it. Hope this wont bite me in the a$$ some day. The Bruins are just a bunch of losers. I stoped watching them couple of years ago. The last good thing they did was release Bourque to give him a chance to have his name engraved in the cup. They owed him that. Hated to see him go, but was glad he won one. The Pats are and have always been my boys. Remember watching Eason suffer in the big game. Jim

| Jim, I was having this all to often until I decided to get a Siverstar light bulb and a Headlight modulator...It doesn't guarantee that they wont pull in front of you but it sure has been worth the $79 invested and remember...it's human nature for people to notice a flashing light....Dave Quote:

| Hey BostonJim,, Glad you survived.........I bet she was a Q-Tip in a big old Buick or something like that. Another nice ride in our area is Route 105. Go down Route 28 to Bridgewater center and stay heading south past the Middleboro rotory. It turns int Route 105 and its rally got nise twistys and you end up in Marion at the town beach on Buzzards Bay |

| Good job, Jim. It's never a bad idea to be practiced in the art of panic stops. Good thing you had enough time.
