Default 1800 vtx

someone i know was asking about putting a cam in his vtx1800, anyone know if it is possible, or been done? any input would be great!!!

I assume you mean a different camshaft, and in that case, two. It's always possible. The only question is who makes one.

A guy in my club put aftermarket cams in his 1800VTX. It cost him about $1200 for parts and labor (valve springs and other parts need to be upgraded also), plus of course the power commander, hypercharger, and exhaust to take advantage of the new power curve. His bike is certainly faster, but I don't know that it is $3000 faster...but each to their own.

I can take him 0-30 or so...dead stock I could take him 0-50. But after that he just runs away from me...I top out about 110, he hits top gear about 105...

LOL! I can burn him BAD in the twisties though!
