Default Removing Front Fender On A GZ250

My name is Joe. Im 29 years old and will be buying my first bike next week. Im getting a GZ250. I also considered the Honda Rebel which was also in my price range but the Rebel was too small and uncomfortable for me. The GZ250 on the other hand was a perfect fit.

My question is about removing the front fender. I want to remove the front fender simply because I think it will make the bike look "tougher". However, I dont want to make the bike unsafe. Someone told me that if I take the front fender off then rocks and other debris will fly up and hit me and the engine. I was just wondering if this is true and whether or not it's a good idea to take the front fender off.

Thanks for any info.

Yeah, the front fender really does serve a purpose, especially if the road is anything less than clean and dry.

My suggestion, Do not remove any fender. Prevent many thing from reaching you.

....but you don't have to take our advice, P.D.
It comes off easily with 4 bolts.
Wait for it to rain. Take it off. Ride on the wet road. Come back here and tell us how you like having water/mud slung up in your face.
And then think about what happens if you encounter a freshly oiled road or fresh "tar snakes" or newly painted lines on the road.

OTOH, for a select few, all that is just a part of the riding experience.

I am not one of them, however.
