Default Hi Guys newbie here with questions on the M109R

Well here I am on the cruiser board :o Let me give you just a tiny bit of my background Im 40 years old as of Oct and I have had and prof raced bikes and cars my whole life.

Im presently coming from having a Turbocharged Hayabusa with 440 rear wheel h.p and before that a superchargerd big motored Yamaha V-max with nitrous as well as presently a Busa with big bore nitrous e.c.t and many other bikes and cars and have made my living in the engineering field with automotive engineering and design in the high performance automotive end of things.

I had some health issues come up about a year or so ago I wont bore you with the details but lets just say I have been dealing with cancer and Kidney disease and unfortuante for me I just cant seem to ride the old Hayabusa anymore or run it at the track due to the pain it causes me to ride it.This bothers me quite a bit so I put the bike up for sale.It was a really custom high end bike with all the goodies of which I have buyers for but have yet to take anyones money.I would die if I didnt have somthing to ride.

So here is my dilima.I had 2 v-maxes before and they havent changed anything on the bikes to make me want to buy one.I hear there coming out with a new one but God knows when that will be been waiting 20 years now on that : So im surfin the net lookin at bikes thinkin heck I never had a harley outta all the prolly 100,s of bikes ive had ill go buy a v-rod.So I go to the dealer and got money in hand ready to make my move.I ask about a trade in due to the fact my bike is custom and well know around town. They send me next door to the Suzuki shop to get an appras.

AND THEN IT HAPPENS :o I see the M109R Holy freakin crap :o I just fall in love with the thing.I mean its just plain cool in my opinion. So I talk with the guy and he is a bozo I decide not to deal with them and i make a few calls and have a buyer for my bike in no time im ready to buy the M109R so i think but i have been able to find very little online about this bike at all.I know it looks good and i know some guy coming off a cruiser goldwing would think it fast. But performance is very nessasary to me. lets say extreemly important.,

My questions are really truly how does this thing run??? Does it bake the back tire thru the first few gears leaving darkie,s up the road< does the fron wheel come off the ground? what kinda trap speed does it run in the 1/4 or 1/8 or a time would be fine.anybody raceed or rolled on with a bike to compare? I am ready to go buy this bike like yesterday but i dont wanna get it and feel like its slow.I know it aint gonna feel like what im used to but I would at least like to feel some good power and feel like im strating out with a bike that is the most powerful cruiser. Will it beat a stock v-max will it beat a v-rod?

Does anyone know some hard numbers about the bike. How does this thing really feel for those that drag race cars ?

If I had to id go buy a v-max but id really like to know about the performance of this bike straight line no BS performance to help me know what to do.Im ready to do a cruisr now do to the comfort level but need that power so what do you guys know about this thing Im ready but who has took this thing out and lit the tire up ( if it will ) or had the front end jump up in the air or had the bike go 140 or so? How is it geared? Thanks guys Im just tryin to make up my mind on what to buy .Im sellin my baby Busa and need somthing like a Busa only a cruiser. Is the M109R the fastest production cruiser??? will it beat every other cruiser>> Thanks John Hows that for a first post ;D ;D ;D

I don't anything about the bike except it does look good, my reason for a reply is to determine if this bike would be ran hard on the streets or on a track. Welcome to the forum.

I don't know where, but I thought I read that it will do a 10.5 quarter mile. Obviously it won't do what your used to but the last bike I had was a zx11 and this thing is all the speed I need. Not nearly the 11 but I'm out of that crazy stage of life. I like the way you sit on it, your not straight up so you still feel like you're on some kind of muscle bike. It takes nothing to burn the back tire in first. Just tap the clutch a smidge when you hammer down and it breaks loose. Took off from a light the other day and lit it up. Once the tire got hot it started to bounce the rear end a little but the front tire never leaves the ground. Pavement is still to cold up here in the north. It'll be interesting to see what it does in the summer. Your best bet is to find a dealer who'll let you ride one. I'm pretty sure it'll beat the v-rod without any problem. I rode one and wasn't impressed with it at all. I really like mine and haven't heard of anyone who doesn't. Don't know why you'd be any different. Cost is really easy to handle to. Won't break the bank getting one. You should be able to get one for around $11,500 unless they won't deal at all with you. I say go for it!!!! I do think its one of the fastest cruisers out there. It looks great (except for the headlight) but thats my opinion. It grows on ya.

Welcome John. Looks like the Harley guys dropped the ball on sending you to the Suzuki dealer fro an apraisal. LOL. Welcome to the forum, dude. Be patient and I'm sure someone will have an answer or two to your questions. There's not a lot out there but there's more everyday.

By the way. You might want to throw in a couple of paragraph breaks in your next long post. Thay don't even have to be in the right place! Just makes it easier to read.

JR - I don't have a M109R but ride a VTX that is comparable in weight and stature. I too came off a sportbike, so I know that your initial impression is that it is gonna be slow. I wasn't sure that I made the right decision when I first bought my bike.

Here goes....

My best 1/8 mile pass so far. 235lb rider (me)

1.72 60ft
7.72 1/8 mile
87.36 mph

So with that data, I would think the M109 would run low to mid 7's at high 80's or low 90's mph.

If thats not enough for you be the first one w/ a turbo-charger or engine mods.

We have VTX guys w/ 145hp rwhp all motor and then some that have made 160-200 rwhp w/ turbos.

Good luck to you. I don't think you can go wrong buying the Suzuki, the aftermarket should take off real soon on this bike.

Don't have one, but would love to see or at least hear what these bikes can do with engine mods or turbo or nitrous etc.

Welcome to the forum, where are you located?

Tonight I really found out what this bike has. Had a couple kids on sport bikes come up behind me and I thought I would show them what this bike had. I hit it hard and spun all the way to 40 when I hit second the rear started fish-tailing. I had no Idea it had that much power. I knew it was powerful but when the rear went broke in second, I was impressed. The one kid pulled up and said "holy crap, whats that thing got in it." Thats the most fun I've had on it yet.
