Says he then warmed it up and checked it according to the manual and it was correct.

Then he took it for a spin around town. When he came back it was dripping oil again. So, they're at a loss now. They're wondering if there's some type of valve problem and they "have a call into suzuki technical support". They are supposed to know something tommorrow.

I still think they don't know what they're doing...seems too common a problem with so many other m109 owners but we'll see.
Man I feel for you! At this point I would call Suzuki and get them involved. The reason I say that is that it is so new, they really know the bike the best. I would also think there is a lemon law for bikes as well. If it can not be fixed in three tries, give me a new one or money back. I would also make them change the air filters. I wish you the best of luck. Ryan

Thanks Ryan, I actually called suzuki yesterday, and the dealership said they called them as well when they were stumpted and expect a return call today to solve the issue. Lets hope suzuki techs know more than the dealership lol

Regarding the lemon law, my brother suggested the same thing. My only issue with that is I still, for some reason, think this is a simple thing to fix that the mechanics are overlooking. However, if this continues much more I will demand a new bike (and probably wait 3 weeks for it to arrive again)

Anyway, I'll update ya'll as this unfolds.

So the service manager drained all the oil and started fresh, check it a few times, rode almost 80 miles total between various testing, and I'm happy to report that they finally filled it with the correct amount of oil. No leaking at all!

I rode another 50 miles or so this evening and still no leaking

About the bike...it's quick! It's a real pleasure to ride. I enjoy the way the gearing is set up with low first and second but nice fifth for cruising. Around 75 mph the rpm are around 3500. The cowling works nicely to deflect wind, the seat is comfortable, exhaust is okay for now. I love the way it looks but it needs to be a bit louder....Happy so far!

Only thing I found that I dislike, is the pegs. My right foot feel like it's going to fall off any day, and in tight curves my heel scrapes before the pegs. That'll be the first real change.

Has anyone else had this issue or felt this way?

1) Is the "correct amount" different than the manual?

2) I posted a review on the "looking at the 109" thread... that was my beef... the first thing I'm changing out is the pegs... Haven't decided on mini paddles, or the switchblade, or what... (Kuryakyn)... also going with the throttle boss and grips too...

The correct amount is what's stated in the manual (the same manual that explains how to check it properly and how much to fill it, and the same manual that the techs didn't read). They treated it like a standard bike, ie checked the oil cold and added oil until it was acceptble. Which on this bike will have oil spewing out the air intakes. Anway, they said the first service is free to make up for all the trouble...

I read you original post (and drooled over it until I got my bike!) but I haven't started looking for replacement pegs yet. I just try to slow down a bit more in the twisties It's a bit weird to have boot and peg scraping around the bend...I can't help but imagine a rubber line through the turn afterwards lol

Oh, and I copied an idea of yours as well...I special ordered my tags with "M109R"...looks really good on your bike.

I'm with you. My heel has scraped several times already. I guess I need to ease up in those corners. I think my friend said that I looked like a sailboat in a windstorm around those corners. LOL.
