| Hello people. New to the forum and new to cruisers. I had been riding sportbkes for most of my life until yesterday. I decided perhaps I was getting too old for a rocket (and with 2 young children I decided I wanted to live longer). So I finally did what I swore I would never do. I bought a cruiser. I went with my brother-in-law to look at a c50. I liked it at first glance and just had to have it. My brother-in-law liked it as well so I bought him one too. Mine is blue/gray and his is silver/gray. Will be looking to customize it ASAP. I am looking forward to soaking up advice like a sponge here.

| Yup, I too am straight over from riding sport bikes my whole life...whats amazing is that at 60 mph on the cruisers, you can get the same rush that you got at 120 mph on the sporties...it must be the mind or something...lol...

| Congrats on a great bike, and "IT IS COMFY", I highly recommend this to be your 1st addition, see below ▼http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/de..._Boulevard_C50 It's as simple as changing the bulb, you not only get a great modulator but the halogen bulb is brighter, "MUCH SAFER" enjoy

| Congratulations. That's one lucky bro-in-law. I thik you'll both be happy with the c50. It is a comfortable bike, after you replace the stock seat, unles you're one of the small percentage who's rear actually fits the stock one. |

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | If you do change out the seat the Mustang seat is a good option. But also look into a buttbuffer pad. They make the ride a heck of alot better. Congrats ont he bike and Welcome to the forum~!!!!!

| Wow, you guys are awesome! Thanks for all the replies and advice. I am already feeling at home here I will be looking into the mustang seat soon although the stock one seems to do fine. However if the mustang seat is that much more comfortable I would like to give it a try. I do have another question for you (actually a few): 1. I removed the baffles when the bike had 6 miles on it. Was that too soon? It sounds pretty good, but wondering if I screwed up by doing it too early. 2. When my tank if full I can only go 85 miles before the fuel light starts blinking (2006 c50). Is this normal and do I have plenty left in reserve? 3. Any suggestions on nice aftermarket mirrors? Thanks again for the help! Last edited by PokerCop; 04-08-2006 at 12:44 AM. |

| Lotsa new faces starting to appear on here! Pokercop and other recent additions. I agree with others' comments about your status of Brother-in-law-of-the-year.Regarding your fuel mileage...I had to convert to KM's, but sounds low to me. I thought the C and M50's had the same size tank, give or take. I usually get 230 Km's before my reserve comes on. (138 miles) Regarding the debaffling, you'll find over time , your responses will boil down to opinion. There are those who won't debaffle, period. Others jump right into aftermarket. Still others say wait till 10,000 miles and she'll get a deeper sound on her own. To each is his own. Use the search feature for more info and opinions on debaffling. That should keep you going for the next month or so. Enjoy MJ, and post often. Cheers bud.

![]() Many of the C50's were running a little rich, so removing the baffles should be fine I would say the fuel light is not calibrated correctly, I usually get atleast 140mi before mine lights up, and I don't drive it easy, I have driven as far as 40 with the light on but I think I was running on fumes And my suggestion for mirrors, The Boulevard Set http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/cu...cat=320&page=3

The tank hold 4.1 gallons -= how much fuel does it take you to fill up after the light comes on?

| Either you are really hard on the throttle or you bike is running real rich. Idle could also be set to high. If you are putting in 3 gals. at 85 miles, there is something wrong. 3 gals. = 135 to 150 miles Now if you are hard on the throttle that will knock down the fiqure. Some here are in the low40's high 30's, but they run the bike hard, have aftermarket pipes. If you are just breaking the bike in, you should not be that hard on the throttle. Go talk to the service manager, where you bought the bike. |

| Congrats on the C50...really nice bike. To help you on your question about debaffling... I debaffled my M50 as soon as i got it and havent noticed any ill effects. I get the right gas milage and the bike runs awesome. Lots of power...I have no probalem keeping up with the other riders I ride with and they all ride the bigger 1450cc Heritage Classic Softails and Fatboys. (a heavier but still more powerful bike). Debaffling will not hurt your bike, just make it sound a little more throtier and louder. |

| Thanks for the input guys! I am not hard on the throttle though, in fact I am driving it like a grandma' until it is broken in. I hope the service guys at the shop can solve the problem with my gas milage. I will let them know what was said here.
