Default Question for Savage Riders

I am looking at getting a bigger bike, since my girlfriend wants my GZ 250. I have read comments where the LS 650 struggles to do 75mph, which makes the bike sound pretty weak, my GZ 250 will get up to 65mph on the flat pretty well with my big butt on it. I don't need to do 140mph (or any other high speed...), but I would like a bike that will pull uphill without too much effort. My other bike I am considering is the Vulcan 500 LTD, which I read has no problems in the power department, putting out 50 hp to the Savage's 34 hp.

I ride a Savage, bought brand new and with only 2000 km on it now. It can go as high as 140 km/h (about 85 mph), but is not pleasant because of the vibrations. It works very well at 60 to 70 mph (100 - 110 km/h) with one or two persons on.
I am 6' 1" and 210 lbs and my wife is adding another 150 lbs to the load.
The bike is stock and I have no plans on modifying it. I like it the way it is.

I ended up keeping my GZ 250 for cruising around town and for the GF to ride, and I bought a '94 Kawasaki Concours for traveling duty. It's quite a bit more of a road bike.
