Default Pipes & Intake Choices (or lack there of...)

I will soon being ordering an exhaust and intake for my M50.
I have 1600+ miles on my bike, and I’ve waiting on getting pipes & intake this long, because I can’t decide what to get, and what look I like. There really isn’t a ton of options for aftermarket pipes (~10 choices) and for the most part most, they don’t look that much different then the others. I would say out of 10 pipes there may be 2-3 different general designs, and the others are just spin offs of those 2-3. Now I don’t mean to offend anyone by what I’m saying, and I hope it isn’t taken that way, but when it comes down to it you have 3 choices.
1. Buy one of these 10 pipes from your typical V&H, Jardine, HK, Cobra, etc… and have the same pipes as everybody else.
2. Get custom pipes made, or even something like the Morton Violators, or Highway Hawks. Here you will pay a ton of money and most times don’t get the absolute best quality and will eventually have blue pipes. Also, typically these pipes don’t do much in the way of performance as well.
3. Leave on your stock pipes. Since I haven’t been sold on either option 1 or 2 I have been choosing option 3.

For the intake my problem is simpler. Through reading these forums I get to see a variety of pipes on all the members’ bikes, but I haven’t yet seen many different intakes. There is even less of a choice when it comes to intakes. Ideally I would love to get rid of the air box all together and just put a screen and or foam around the black plastic tube that connects to the air box. My second choice would be to find the smallest diameter round intake that covers as little of the engine as possible. The 3rd intake I’ve considered is the hurricane. I like this kit a lot, but I just not sure if it will ruin the line of the bike or not.

Please help and provide me your opinions / ideas. Also, if you have an aftermarket intake please post as many pictures as possible. This goes if you have a unique exhaust that we haven’t seen before.

Thanks in advance.
