The trip was great, beat the rush and came back Sunday so as to avoid the rush. My friend Tom and his wife Shelia, are 2 klicks East of Lumby and about 2 klicks up a mountain, on a paved road in an area of 5 acre lots. Because of the slope and trees, you can not see the other homes. They feed the Deer, some of who have Fawns living in the tall grass at the rear of the property. One Doe had 1 Fawn, another had 2 Fawns. He has only fenced a small portion of the lot for a back yard. We were havinbg wine out there Friday night, when a loud growl came fron the otherside of the fence, I am not sure which of us made the back door first. The wild Raspberries and Saskatoonberries are out. The Bears come out in the cool of the night and feed, the next door neighbours fence was down the next day where the Bear went over to raid the berries along his driveway. But it is so quite up there, you can hear the cattle down in the valley. No traffic, no sirens. |

Did my good deed yesterday. Was on #7 heading East, came around a curve, passing a Harley pulled over. Stopped went back and found he had lost his head nut and his bars were coming off his springer front end. He was looking for a piece of rope to hold the bars on while he cruised home. I had 2 bungie cords in the saddle bags and off he went. |

Well I came across a similar situation except it was a car Came up to an intersection so find a car stop with its four ways on. Pulled up beside him and found out his car died and was no longer able to drive. I put down my kick stand left my bike on the side of the road and pushed his car to a safe area. Made sure he got out of there. He sitting in the left turn lane on lougheed. Imagine the angry people if he didnt move.

Blackie Haven't logged on since the 6th. Did the group ride ever happen? I had a great visit with friends from out of town. Didn't get on the bike at all on my 4 days off. Rode to work this am despite those ominous looking clouds. Hoping for dry roads for home. Both batches are coming along as they should. Fermentation is in the air.

No, I assume the others checked the forcast. We had the wind come up sat. night and turn dark. I checked the forcast and cancelled on Andrew. I just dropped the bike off for its 18,000 km service. My black steelbraided brakeline is on back order. My tires are in and will change as soon as needed. I have a Mustang seat that should be here shortly. I am waiting for my son to drop off a soldering iron so I can wire my additional LED brake/running lights. Thats it for this year. So you have to buy coffee on the next ride. |

Hi Bob. Been away from the computer for awhile. Did some camping a few weeks ago. The salmon runs are in the rivers now. Went out on Mon-Wed for springs. Mon. 1, 21 lbs. Tues. 2, 22 and 30 lbs. Wed. 1, 15 lbs. Sockey opened on Thurs.( go figure ). Must have landed 10 sock's per day. Had to let them all go until the DFO finally made the call to open it. Got my van broken into on the river on the last day. Nothing to steal. Tried to drill my keyhole out. Failed. Tried to pry the handle open. Failed. Shattered the window...covering leather seats and half the floor of the van. Wine is coming along. It's been just over a month. I'm due for 1st racking. Maybe on my days off. Trying to balance summer with the kids, fishing, riding etc. Looking forward to a ride. Will keep in touch. Thanks for the call. Hope my absence on here didn't get you to thinking the worst. Atlas

Hey on that juice, you were to rack between day 6 to 10, when the reading is at 1.006- 1.015, and there is still enough action to keep air off the surface. Glad to hear from you. Have been laid low with a bad foot, hoping to get back on the road to-day. It has been 3 weeks. If you get any free time, even short, call. Bob |

I put on some miles yesterday. Ended up with the pleasure of riding with a Harley rider from Tacoma, Wash. Hopefully we will have a chance to ride together again. It was the first time where every rider out there gave back the wave. Passed a lot of bikes. Good riding weather. The kinda day you are glad you are on 2 wheels. |

First item on the news this morning ,is a motorcyclist was killed in the wee hours on the Lougheed Hiway. He ran into the rear of a pickup, at high speed. There is the possibility he was drag racing a Mustang. Sad. |
