Rude awakening on todays ride. On a quite area of small acreage homes, all fenced ,some with horses. As I approached a stop sign, undecided as to which direction I was going to turn, I slowed right down. I was lucky, as a Doe came over the fence landing in my lane. Never saw her till she landed, had I not slowed down, she would have been sitting on my tank. I watched as she took more 5' fences from a stop with ease. The fences are only 2' from the edge of the road. I was lucky. Last edited by blackie1491; 06-19-2006 at 08:25 PM. |

Close call..I had a similar problem..execpt it was a squirrel it jumped out in front of my tire and bolted seconds before I would have hit it. On Sunday I rode to harrison hot springs..on business...but still a great ride..saw lots of other bikers...squids that is...but sure enough cops were everywhere. I hope to clear some time up for a ride with you guys soon..keep in touch

Did you give some consideration to changing the frontend to the way it was. That should raise those bars quite a bit, would be easier on your back. I heard from Todd, he passed his course, but told me his rear tire had gone south. |

So the Deer was an awakening, the 2 small rocks to the face shield yesterday and the day before made me glad I had a shield. But to-day a close call was a lawnmower that rolled down a sloped driveway (hidden) across the road in front of me, down another driveway stopping up agaist the gate. The lawnmower was rolling handle first, followed by a running man. The lawnmover do not stop and look for traffic, neither did the man. He was running like hell. I think he came aware of me as I hit the throttle to see if the sound of my pipes would make him aware of how close he came to becoming my fender ornament. The Deer my insurnace would believe, the lawnmower, I was laughing as I rode down the street. |

Well, on Sunday, I did my wife's mother a favor. I had my wife drive me to a store to pickup a Patio Set, that was too large for the car. I took a fold up 2 wheel dolly, placed the large box on it, headed the 6 blocks to my mother-in-laws. I came to a crosswalk. this pickup on the left stopped to let me cross. 1 guess is all you get as to who barreled thru the crosswalk as I went across. If you said my wife, you just won the prize. It is a good thing my wife did not hear the choice words that came to mind. But I did voice my opion of her driving skills. Do you think I should check to see if she has taken out any insurance policy lately. |

Sounds good Bob. How'd you spot Dan so quick? he,he. I didn't even see him introduce himself yet! We have to round this Motley Crew up for sure. Have a good weekend away. And...if your wife's going to drive this weekend, make sure your IN the car with her, w/ seat belt. I'm hoping to pic up a pail of Cab/Sav in Queensburo (sp) in the next few days. Let the fermentation begin... Enjoy the long weekend bud, Darren.

I ran into Dan while checking our frapper map here. I e-mailed and then told him to check the site. Just remember to age that Cab. at least 8 months before bottling. Pickup a Burgundy at the same time and 3 months and it is not bad. Besides you have 3 diff. bottles here with your name on. Also my Burgundy is ready. |

| Thanks for the offer Bob...looking forward to it.Thanks for the tip on the Cab. I recall reading about the 9 month waiting period...should have started another batch a long time ago. I'm already out. ![]() Only 3 months on the Burgundy huh... Sounds like a plan.

Wine improves with age. 12 months is better, and it will age in the bottle. I just bottled 2 weeks ago, have another batch ready to bottle and 3 more on the go. I am trying to get back to a year min. before bottling. Taking my last bottle of wine that I bottled 3 years ago, plus a couple of others to my friends. It has been 35c at his place. He has 5 acres on a mountain side. Sit out in the back yard, have a glass and listen to the cattle down in the valley. No sirens, strange how you become so used to city noise. His wife has a wadding pool in the front yard for the deer. They have about 20 deer come for water every day. |

18,000 km service coming up, will add steel brakeline, dropped in to Langley Holeshot to book my service for the 11th of July, also since tires are getting close and the stock at the dealer is getting low, I prebooked so I will have them there when I need. Held in service area. It is amazing the shop is going full bore and people walk in and want the bike serviced now. |
