New Rider Rule #52-- If one should join a group of riders in which he has never joined in with before, he must, without objection, purchase coffees.

that is if you want a a third rider to tag along?

Did a loop Richmond - Princeton - Merritt - Mission - Richmond a couple of Tuesdays ago - Took about twelve hours including the usual fuel stops, photo ops and coffee breaks. Except for about 500 yards of the Coquihalla, it was dry the whole way.

Best event of the day was riding down from Sunday Summit into Princeton - there are some pretty sharp hairpin turns there. A white car was keeping really close to me until his rear tires broke away in a turn and he came within a couple of yards of putting it into the rhubarb on the wrong side of the road. After that he was way, way back in my mirror. Heh.

LOL. Sounds like a great ride Tucuma.
BTW, I notice we're almost neighbours...I'm a process operator running the Lafarge Cement Plant out on #9 Rd. I live in Fleetwood area near Northview Golf Course.

Keep us posted on your rides. Always looking for new routes.

Daughter's bike has been dropped off at our house, with a request that I find a spot in the garage for it. I guess this means riding season is about over, and coupled with the evening weather report, she's got a point.

Shame, really, because my new Mustang seat just arrived the other day, and friend wife says she's more comfortable than ever before.

C'est la vie.

Now, where did I leave that jug of gasoline preservative?

Wistful thinking on your part.
It was Sunny for a while yesterday.
Light rain today. Doubtful that we will have a White Christmas.

I shoveled enough snow in Winnipeg, Whitehorse, Inveremere and Calgary so I am happy with rain. I do not miss those Lightening storms in Winnipeg!!!

The cold weather seems to bother me more in my second childhood!!!!

Hey Bob. How you been buddy? I only peek in on the site once in awhile...and happened on your post this morning.
Hope all is well with your family. We're great on this end. Managed to get on the bike a few weeks ago, during a clear day and a cold snap. I tried to ride out on hwy 7 to fish for coho and cutthroat trout, but a sudden fog and the cold turned me back at Ruskin. I'm thinking I should have parked the bike this winter, but as it sits, I'm insured year round.
I'm thinking of selling the M50 in th next few months. Probably in Feb. or March.
Also planning on heading back to Hawaii for a couple of weeks in March, over spring break. This time it's going to be a family affair as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary. All the girls are excited...I'm looking forward to it.
Interested to hear how things have been with you. I'll log on more often to see how ya been. Take care Bob.

Darren

Things are great. We have been busy. Have insurance on the Bike but no time to ride.

Are you selling the M with the intent to move up or?

Have been busy working on the outside of our place, in the good weather, just finishing a total reno of the kitchen. And the do list seems to be getting bigger.

I never got that coffee!!!!!

Good to hear all is well. Now is the time for all the projects. You've got some time B4 riding weather returns.
I want to sell the M50 and buy a VMax. It's the bike I've wanted to buy but knew it would be a mistake a couple of years ago. A friend of mine has one that he has detailed already. He also just bought another one with a big bore, with numerous mod's as well. So he is keeping the detailed one stored safely until I decide to pick it up. Weather being what it is, I figured around March, give or take.

I'm planning on heading to the bike show in January. Hopefully riding if weather permits. Maybe we can plan something. Take care...and I'll get you that coffee, don't you worry.

The Tradex Center at the airport is really handy for me.

I thought you would trade up for a bike more 2-up friendly.
The V-max has gone from the 08 listings.

Now, if you passed the M to the wife and then got a V-max!!!!

I think it is going to have to be a coffee and 2 donuts interest>

My wife actually suggested I keep the M for her. But in reality, we probably wouldn't get out riding enough to warrant insuring 2 bikes.
As for the VMax and 2 up, its actually more comfy than the stock seat on the M50.

The revamped VMax is due out in '09, but my guess is it'll arrive mid year.
Story is the new one will be the most expensive in the Yamaha lineup. I'm content with the old style.

Hey Darren;
I made it to the show, saw Andrew there.
The C109Rt was nice.
Have you decided what you are doing with the M?

Hi Bob. I never made it to the show as I had hoped. My wifes cousin found out a month ago that she has cancer and they gave her around 3 weeks to live! Talk about a paradigm shift. Sadly, It doesn't look like she'll last the weekend. I don't believe I've ever heard of a circumstance that developed so quickly, from finding out your ill, and deteriorating to the point of death in a month. So things have been more taxing than usual around here.

As for the M50, my plans are still to sell it in the spring and buy the Vmax. I've been trying to save for both the bike and a family vacation to Hawaii in March. The trip is booked and we are away for 2 weeks in March. I had planned to buy the bike in March as well, but my savings didn't build as I had hoped. I just want to be done with payments and would rather buy the bike when I can do it outright. I'm thinking it'll be more like April or May...we'll see.

Did you get any pic's worth posting from the show?

I am sorry to hear about your wife's cousin.

No pictures, I went with my son and grandson. We went Sat. am.
It was wall to wall people.

Lots of young children, lots of women. Looks good for the future of riding.
I have a neighbor whose daughter teaches only women riders, she is backed up with a 100 new riders and this bad weather.

Family time is more important than the Bike as your girls are getting older and soon they will have families of their own.

We are heading for a few days in Vegas next week. Have to make my annual donation!!!

I am still waiting for that coffee and donut!!!

Whoooah! I moved to the Island, where there are lots more roads to ride. I rode over on January 4th, and am just now getting dried out; can't believe how wet you can get in forty miles of riding.

Missed the bike show, unfortunately.

Checked into Richmond Motorsports - they've dropped the Honda brand from their showroom. Seems Honda isn't too eager to recognize the changes in the dollar. Prices on Suzis and Kawas are very very attractive. But I have a new house to pay for. Maybe next year.

Good morning Bob,

Yes, I test rode a C90 at Motorcycle World several weeks ago but haven't been to Gateway in Abbotsford yet.

Are you going to the Yamaha Demo tomorrow? I'm working on an assignment, if I make good progress today, will award myself with a nice ride to the Yamaha dealer tomorrow (Wed), probably in the morning hours.

If you're there you can recognize my black C50 by its solo seat+luggage rack, sheepskin on the saddle, white Shoei RF1000 helmet.

Hope to see you there.

Elvis
