Hey Darren;
I just got an Email from a member of volusiariders.com to remind me of the rally in Creston June 21 to 24th. So far over 20 bikes from Alta, and the US.
Would you be interested.

I would like to start a Canadian Central Prairie Riders thread, but I would only end up talking to myself.

Well you can join Darren and I, Andrew pops in every now and then.

I am retired and the scheduling is a problem as the rest have family commitments.

Hey Darren, Harley Dealer in Langley has test rides this coming Sunday, 10-3, no advance bookings needed.

My youngest said his StreetGlide will be in mid May. I wonder if I will get a test ride. He still has not allowed me behind the wheel of his Corvette.
My wife says he is smarter than I am! Do you think she trying to tell me something!!!!

The Harley deal sounds interesting and doable Bob. Looking at my schedule, I could make it out that way around 1:00, 1:30ish. I've really been wanting to hop on a VRod. My wife has been working at landing them as an account, and has developed a great relationship there. May be worth exploiting if need be.

Thanks for the heads up Bob. You thinking of going?

My son was racing in LA and his Streetglide came in. They told him he did not have to put cash down as he had bought several cars thru their car deaslership.
When he got back from LA, they told him they sold it as he had not come by.
So he dropped over to another dealer and put his cash down.

So he is no longer sending his friends there.

I was thinking about it, but I know that is just asking for trouble. You can do a day rental of a Vrod and that would give you a better idea.
Temptation is hard enough to resist without .........

Besides when you ride the best why look at anything else!!!!

Did you see that note about the Creston Ride?

Yes I saw the info regarding the ride. I'm on tour during 3 of the dates. And to be honest, life is just too busy at this stage to go for a jaunt that far. The Anacortes run would be a possibility, which my wife also has an interest in doing, but anything spanning overnight would be tough.

My wife and I got out for a nice ride yesterday...Ft Langley area. Took a look at that new development just west of the town, north of the tracks. We like to check out the latest architectural themes in new housing. Interesting looking neighborhood, but WAY overpriced for what you get IMO, but what isn't these days. It's that new Parklane development. Beautiful area, along the river...Take a ride by next time you're meandering on your bike.

Have not looked West of Fort Langley.
Was out Cultus Lake/ Columbia Valley area and Chilliwack Lake area last week.

Next Sunny day will look it over.

Linda is retired as of May 3rd and we are thinking of moving out in the Valley.
Her actual retiring date is Jul 31st, but holidays cover the time in between.

I'm jealous Bob. The Columbia Valley area is beautiful. The whole family did a tour of the area in my jeep last summer. Made the comment at the time that it would be a great ride on the bike.
So are you preparing yourself for your wifes retirement?
I'm thinking your ride times may be reduced somewhat LOL...Unless you fit the C50 with a sidecar.

Bob
This afternoon I traded my afternoon nap for a trip over to Motorcycle World demo days. I took out 3 bikes...

SV650
M109R
Bandit 1250

I put my heart and soul into a detailed account of my experience into a thread for the lobby, only to have lost it when I tried to preview the post. It appears it logged me out and it escaped my notice.

The long and short of it...
The SV was OK. I found myself wanting more power. Handling was good.
The M109R was fantastic to behold and more power than one could want. It was ready for anything.

The Bandit blew me away. What an awesome bike. Great power, agility, and smooth transition throughout the gears. I find myself replaying my experience with the Bandit over and over in my mind. The bike does nothing for me aesthetically, but it sure exceeded my expectations. For the price, there's a whole lot of value in that package.

You been on any demo's this year yet? or should I say, have you convinced jr. to fork over the keys?

I have stayed away from Demo's, the only way to resist the temptations of Spring.
I was out with my son and a friend of his yesterday. They both have Street Glides, an 06 and 07. My son picked his up on Friday and they rode up to Cache Creek and I met them when they came back down. I met them at my son's shop in Mission and we headed to the GIllnetter Pub for coffee and lunch.
My son had a stage 1 kit installed, pipes, aircleaner and EFI controller.

Nice bikes but out of my price bracket, I will get the keys later.

Roads were full of bikes.

Im trying to find another and almost got one last weekend but..no dice. Hopefully I find something decent, get my butt back on the road. So how are things Bob? Bike still carrying you around these days?

Hi Andrew, nice to hear from you.
I have just hit 30,000 klicks on mine. Enjoyed every one.

How is everything going. Are you still taking some courses?

Check your local papers and watch for those parked with for sale signs.

Darren is hiding out as he owes me a hot chocolate.
Last time he bought, the moth fell out of his wallet, dead!!!

Stop in more often.

Lol empty wallet eh...thats alriight..double next time. Nice to hear you get some riding time. I am taking summer off but I still read up and I still teach myself with books. I am searching papers, roads, internet, my eyes are peeled, i thought i could last the summer with out a bike but my cage doesnt satisfy my cravings, speaking of..i got rear ended by a semi trailer today. I was not impressed but accidents happen, he didnt leave much damage, but it definitly startle me. No one got hurt though. Hows the family?
