Hi Bob. I didn't have time to get to the grips over the last few days.
I brought them to work with me today and installed them in the shop. Thanks for the link. The instructions provided with the kit are pretty much the same.
I'm wondering how this glue will hold though. The instructions say to do the glueing steps VERY quickly. When I checked how the clutch side had bonded 10 minutes later, they still weren't tight. I'm wondering if I used enough glue. May try some locktight if it doesn't harden up soon.
I'll keep you posted...Looks great though!

I went back an hour later and found the left grip only slightly bonded on the inside edge. I was able to free up the grip and start fresh. This time I used locktite. The grip went on deceptively easy. As I was putting the grip on I was thinking to myself this will slide on easily. Then wham, it started to set up. I just got the grip on just in time as she ground to a halt right near the end. I managed to get it posn'd in time though. Whew! She'sa not gonna to mova now though.

Re:Eric. I never thought to really use him for the grips. I figured with taxes, GST, US exchange and shipping, I'd be pretty close to what I paid.
I am planning to use him for accessories that I can't get in Cad. though. It appears I can't get a tank bra ordered from Cad., so I'll be ordering from a US supplier. I'll keep him in mind for future business.

It has been cool the last few days. I would have left the bike overnight in the garage to set.

I was out riding on #7, passed about 3 Mounties heading in the other direction came across the tracks and thru the 90 turn in to Durouch and there was a Mountie standing on the side off the road, got waved over and a class 6 check done.

First time in 16 years. Told me they were doing roadside checks for seatbelts and class 6's.

The wife and I drove up the Canyon to Boston Bar and had brunch there.
Met a Van. City Fire Chief there that Linda worked with. He was out on his Beemer F650, joined us for brunch. In the hour or so we were there about 15 to 20 asstd. bikes pulled in for brunch.
Just the right distance for a days cruising, allowing a few hours for a good brunch.

The Canyon is nice this time of year. Very little traffic..

I would have left the bike sit if it were at home, but I needed it to set before heading home from work. Sounds like a nice ride out on 7.
And yes it has been a little nippy. I'm still riding to work, and it's been a challenge with the fog in the morning...keeping warm and visibility issues. I've been thinking about those chaps you were talking about last spring.

You don't happen to still have those kicking around by any chance do you?

The Chaps are sitting here along with the wine.
Also I bought a lot of Turtle neck pullovers because the price was so good.
So if you need 1 or 2 the price is cheap.

Bob, the Beemer rider was really layered up. He had heated grips, added the outlet for a vest but had not bought, told me he thought he would not ride in that temp.
It is deceiving, you get near the River or in the shade of the Mountains and the wind just takes all the heat away so fast at speed.

A guy at work keeps raving about heated grips. I just like the ISO's so much that I figured I'd go with heated gloves instead. My core temp. is OK with my current lined jackets so I'm holding off on the heated vest...maybe in the dead of winter. The place that just sucks the heat is in my front quads. When I come home after a night shift I've got to have a shower before going to bed, otherwise I just lay in bed shivering. So those chaps have been on my mind quite a bit lately.

What size range do they fit Bob? I'm hoping they're not TOO big...no offense I hope.

The size on the chaps is a large, I had used a stretch cord in place of the rear leather lace, which I have replaced.

The waist goes from 32/33 to 40.
The leg can be cut for length, but an important measurement is around the
thigh when in the seated position. You will have to try on.

When I checked on the tank bib for ypur bike I got the same as the one for the C50. It took a couple of weeks to get last year, but buying from the US is cheaper than what I paid.
There are some on Ebay or ask Eric.

Hey Bob.
Latest news...A couple of nights ago some 'dummyhead' sliced up the soft top on my jeep in my driveway. Stole some sunglasses and my cell phone, after busting open my center console.

And yesterday, my youngest busted her left arm in gym class...just got the cast on today. Who needs boy's.

My oldest daughter is healing up great. The skin graft looks like it's healing as it should, and she's pretty much caught up after missing 5 wks of school.

You still on the road?

I have it insured to Feb 2/07.
It goes in Tues. for its 24,000 kms service. Drop off that night pick up Wed. pm. I am just over 25,000.

Have not been out since Friday, was looking at the weather for today.

I am glad the oldest is healing, sorry to hear about the broken arm.
I expected that from my boys not your girls.

The wind in the Valley has been cold.
Must be getting old. Need someone to pay for my hot chocolate!!!

Headed out yesterday for a few hours of riding as it had been 5 days without.
About 40 miles out and I could see dark clouds rolling in, headed south and got caught in some rain, not enough to get soaked but enough to make me head for home.

Although layered, not heavy enough. Needed my glove liners which I left behind.
Do miss my hard bags I had on the Wing. Got to watch the wet leaves on some of the curves beyond Fort Langley.

Our fall leaves may not be as colorful as some areas, it is still a great sight,
through the Fraser Canyon it is fantastic.

I'm still content with my M.
I've got a sissybar on her now. My youngest is the only one that's been on so far, but she loves it. With the back support she feels very comfortable.
Trying to find the time to take my wife. She's been itching to ride, but trying to find the time when the weather cooperates has been a challenge.

BTW, I'm thinking a possible ride on Monday if it's nice. You interested?

Only if the coffee is on you.

By the way I picked up a new set of chaps, sure helps keep the wind chill down.

Let me know if you can make it.

Just curious why you bought a new pair. Something I should know about the old ones?

If we get together for a ride next week, I'll bring my T-bag and tail bag for the wine. If the chaps fit, I'll wear em.
