Default Let Your Bike Speak to You

Cool ! good bike choice, although nothing can compete with the Mighty Mighty Sexy M50 ..

Here's a thought not part of or regular programming.... why not just ride the bike first for a while and then decide what you need. Maybe you won't need anything ! I know, this is heresy on this forum, whos members have created the full employment act for Mustang, Kuryakin, Vance & Hines, et al, but don't decide everything in advance............Let Your Bike Speak to You, and then after it has.. you will know.

Jumping in here a little late, so welcome!
C50 great bike with a little tweaking here and there (blinging). I have read your concerns about the spoke wheel cleaning, well it's not so much a nightmare as as you might imagine. I use Blackhawk Motorcycle spray cleaner (Walmart) to clean the dirt off then neverdull wadding cloth and follow up with Meguire's Tech wax. They will stay bright and clean for quite a while after that, with just a minimal wiping off.

Bluecruzer - I agree with no white walls. Just a persoanl preference of mine too.

JackM50black - The M50 IS a very good looking bike. My "friend" bought a blue one last Fall and now has taken to parking it right outside my window at work just to taunt until I get a bike.

I could very easily just flip a coin on either the C50 or M50 at this point.

Danr - Thanks for the cleaning tips on spoked wheels. I like the look of them as they provide an old school bling factor of their own.

The only outstanding concern I have now is the puncture resistance of tubeless vs tube tires. Is there any merit to this concern? And yes, I know the easy answer is, "don't run over anything."

Fyi, I took the MSF class over the weekend and scored a 96%. Why not a 100% you ask? Because I forgot to downshift to first gear before putting my foot down on the quick stop portion of the exam. Overall, it was a great experience for this newbie. I could have done without the 5 hrs class time, but the 10 hours (total) on the range going through exercise after exercise on the trusty little Rebel 250 I used was a valuable experience & confidence builder to me.

Only a few more things to do in preparation for the bike, dirt, stones and a ramp into the new shed and I'll be ready to roll!

Thanks again for all the great info here!!

I know it was mentioned before, but I just wanted to emphasize the fact that you don't have to buy close to home. The only reason the dealers tell you that they take care of there own first is because they want you to buy from them. I always just tell them to match the other guys price. If they don't, I walk, if they do, fine! Usually they will match the price rather than let you walk out the door, specially if you have been in there a few times talking to them. Every time you walk out, they think they have lost you, and it starts to play on there brain.

I asked a dealer once what he thought Suzuki would say if I told them of his "we take care of our own first" practice. He didn't like that at all.
