Default 2003 LC1500 Rear Manifold Exhaust Leak

My rear exhaust manifold flange is warped and getting exhaust leak. I read on another forum that this is a common problem. It suggested to cut off the flange and that a Kawasaki Vulcan split flange MAY work as it is made of heavier material that won't warp. Has anyone tried this or have anyother suggestions.

As long as you can get your hands on both pieces I would get a good micrometer and make sure the bolt holes line up, the inside pipe diameter is the same, the sealing seat is the same, etc. If it all works then give it a try. I do not have a problem with mine but I did switch to HK's Big 3" pipes.

call it "hillbilly fixin'" if you want, but worked for me. i have two sets of vance and hines(two into two and two into one)for my intruder lc. if i want a different look and change them, i got tired of buying the new gasket. on the last change, it did have a minor leak, so i went to auto parts store and got some muffler sealant. it worked!!! have driven it a thousand miles or so since and no leak. just be sure you go by the directions to the letter. later, bud

what else would it be called stp? HILLBILLY EXHAUST REPAIR AND DENTAL ADHESIVE.
actually it's called joint and crack EXHAUST SYSTEM SEALER and it's made by QUALCO and it's even made in america. comes in a five ounce tube and says it's for sealing joint openings and leaks. applies soft and sets weld hard.
btw, i lived in branson missouri for nearly 20 years so i do qualify as a hillbilly and can therefore recommend various "hillbilly products". later, bud
