Thumbs up How about some good news already!!

Hello all, Don't get me wrong, but I have been reading alot on this Forum and there are alot of sad stories related to motorcycle accidents and near misses.
I don't mean to undermine any of those stories and I really feel for each of them (not to mention learned from them also) BUT as a new middle aged rider, I want to hear some good news!!!! I know a lot of older riders who have NEVER had an accident and was wondering how many of you can say the same. If you haven't had any, then I say hats off to you because the dangers are always out there (as they are for cars as well) and you obviously keep alert and forsee problems before they happen. As a car driver, I know I can almost tell you what the other guy will do next and as a biker that has definately helped me. Did you know that I read once that there is not enough data to give statistics on middle aged riders and accident type. I guess that's why my insurance is only $200.00.
So let's hear it! Tell me some good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I guess I am "middle aged" now at 44.......had a motorcycle license since 1977 and have never had an accident. When I was younger I rode enduro bilkes exclusively, they now call them dual-purpose. Got my first street bike back in 1997. Had a couple of close calls, but no wrecks......knock on wood!

I guess that techically I've had my license for 35 years with no accident. But that includes a 20 year hiatus during my "responsible family dad" years

Well, I'm almost 58 and have been riding since 1974 with just a couple of years off. Only one accident (1976) and no close calls. Of course I probably just jinxed myself.

I'm 57 years old. Had my motorcycle licenses since 1975. Broke my ankle in 1976 riding dirt bikes. Got ran into the back of my GS 400 twin, but not hurt in 1977. Was following a bike one day, but not with him. He turn right and a women pull out in front on me thinking i was going to turn also. I lean right, and ran off the road into a ditch. She stop and look back, then drove off. I was not hurt, think i broke and turn signal. Was Very Lucky! Been out of riding bikes for around 15 years, but bought a S83 a few months ago and already put almost 7000 miles on it. Glad to be back in the saddle.

Please all, be carefull
Willie
