Default Correct headlamp adjusment?

Hello

Does anyone know the proper way to adjust the headlamp? Mine seems to be pointing too low. Thanks for your help,

Gerald

I have seen several that were not even close right from the dealer.

There is an adjustment screw on the C50 headlight. Your S50 owners manual should have this info.

1) measure the distance ( A ) from the floor to the center of your headlight.
2) subtract 2" from that measurement ( "B" ).
3) Place a piece of tape "B" inches from the floor on a vertical wall.
4) Measure back away from the taped wall 17 FEET. Place your bike with its headlight at the 17 foot mark pointing at the tape on the wall.
5) Turn on your headlight - the top of the beam should be at the tape mark on the wall. If too high or low, there should be beam adjust screws on the headlight housing.

I just did this as I thought my headlight was too high. Got the instructions from another site.

Good Luck
Dave

thanks deemc. I've wanted to check mine for accuracy and proper placement, too. Good formula; I can work with that

Thanks from me also Deemc! I have been looking for this for a couple of months. Tried it on mine and it was right on! I still think the low beam is not far enough in front of you at night though! Maybe that's normal, this is all new to me.

adjust them so they shine in the other drivers eyes so he can't miss you. it's better that they see you & are mad at you. than they miss seeing you & you are mad at them for pulling out in front of you

I think they are on the bike in the crate (not positive) but they need to be adjusted. I have adjusted them on 4 different Volusias/C50s and none of them were correct. They were low on all 4.

I had to take mine back to the dealer. The mechanic had to disassemble the whole thing, and reposition something inside before it could be adjusted. So yes, it could be put together wrong, mine was.

You can duct tape laser pointers to the sides of the headlight housing too!
