Default Saddle Bags

I would like to say Hi to everyone and say great forun. This is my first post and my bike (06-C50). Haven't had a street bike in 20 years and can say after the last few weeks I had forgot how much I enjoyed riding. Now I need bags. What kind and brand of bags are you running? I have look at leather and the fakes and like the Willie and Max for price and ease of care. How good are the W&M or is the leather better and if so what brand? Thanks

I got these off of Ebay for less than a hundred....

They were throw-overs and I cut the yokes off and hardmounted them w/ the factory saddlebag supports. I found the tech write up on the Volusia Gateway website and it couldn't have went smoother. So what do ya think ??? I just put them on Thurs. night so I don't have any long term info on them but they are supposed to be waterproof and weather resistant...Zed

P.S. here is the link to the bags...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/200-W...spagenameZWDVW

Really nice looking Dream. I will check them out as I am in the market, but blew all my money over xmas. For a 100 I could swing it. What kind of supports did you put on. Nice bike bro.

Also found some stock Suzuki saddlebag supports on Ebay for cheap and they were brand new still in the package...

I've got the w&m raptor series compact on my rebel and like them well enough that i'm getting the same ones next size up for the S50. They have a zipper and carrying handle and come right off. Very cool option. So far aa little rain hasn't had any effect on them. I wipe them off when I polish my chrome. Just one more thing to do, but worth it.

Dream,

Could you post a link to the specific location on the Volusia Gateway that has the specs for mounting the bags. I took a quick look and couldn't find it. Thanks.

Go check out "LeatherNeck Jim's". They have a large variety of bags and they are very helpful. The site even has a fitment chart to help you determine what size to go with. If you can swing it go with "EZ-Brackets". They make life alot easier when removing the bags and they help keep the backs re-inforced to keep from sagging into the rear wheel. PLus when you remove the bags it has a clean look to it and no crummy brackets left. Just two rounded studs.

I have the Boulevard saddlebags from the dealer as well. They are great so far considering they are a hard bag with synthetic outer. They are not quick to operate in my opinion, however. Each has 2 buckle straps and 2 snaps to keep it sealed properly.
