I am pretty sure that I saw them at cruisercustomizing.com. I think you have to buy an adapter to make it fit a specific bike. Pretty pricey for a fake, but then EVERYTHING is pricey for bikes.

Just an intake that reminds you of a air scoop on a dragster. It has the "butterflies" that open and close when you are on or off the throttle.

Sometimes they cause problems on bikes with carbs because the air is forced to the back of the carb causing a pressure imbalance in the float bowl so the fuel cannot rise to its proper level within the float bowl. Proper jetting sometimes (notice I used sometimes twice......the problem is not always universal) does not cure it. More of a needle and spring adjustment if I remember right (any help here would be appreciated). No word yet of any negative effects on a FI system.

Volusia guys haven't seemed to have had much of a problem with poor running after installing one, but it seems to affect Harley guys more. The biggest complaint from those owners that don't suffer from the performance problem is that Thunder Mfg'ing ships the kits with cheap mounting hardware. Some of their products stick out in the wind and act as scoops. The continued pressure on the mounting bolts causes them to shear. Again not all owners have this problem.

Ahh, so under the best circumstances, and at a cruiser's dragstrip speeds (75mph?), you gain .07 hp?

Pretty much! All that horsepower for three+ hundred or so dollars! (After shipping, adaptors, etc....)

All kidding aside. I think Uechi posted a dyno link. Don't remember the engine size, and I believe it was without an aftermarket exhaust. Just the intake alone they (Thunder) claimed something like 5 or 7 hp.

You probably won't get 7HP by just replacing the intake. I got 10HP on my M95 replacing the intake, exhaust, PCIII and a dyno tune. 18% increase.

I think I could recite that whole movie!!

Of course, the whole bootcamp part is pure comedy!

That whole movie is just chock full of good quotable lines.
