Default Setting the clock

Well, I figured out my starter problem (the clutch safety switch was a little out of alignment), but the clock on my 2004 VL800 keeps resetting itself to one o'clock when I turn the key off. What gives?

That is a weird one. The Clock should be wired to a constant hot wire. It shouldn't be off the ignition. I don't know of any battery other then the bike's battery. Did you call the service department at your stealer?

Oh, I would pull off the speed odmeter assembly and check the plug connections. Other then that, I'm at a loss.

I checked the plug under the instrument cluster and found that the hot wire pin had backed out of the plug's plastic housing just enough to prevent contact with the pins on the back of the speedo's plug. Pushed the pin back in, plugged it in, and problem solved! Thanks. Jack

Good deal! I'm glad you were able to get it fixed.
