Default Another after market performance believer

My neighbor and friend (a high school teacher) purchased a 05 C50 about 3 months ago after a 30 year lay off, he commutes to and from school with it. He was perfectly happy with the bike as is and had no plans to do any performance mods to it, just a headlight modulator, backoff break module, bags and a little chrome here and there. A group of us make a breakfast run every Saturday, yesterday. There were 7 of us. I was the 3rd bike from the end and he was directly behind me. I got hung at a light; it turned out to be a LOONG light. Luckily when the light turned green there was nothing between me and the last bike to make it through but they were getting smaller and smaller in view. So what's a guy to do? I guess you know what I did, Damn it's a great feeling to have a bike that can perform and respond when you want it to and to hit every gear just right. Glancing in my mirrors I saw my friend getting smaller and smaller. I assumed he just felt uncomfortable trying to keep up. After breakfast as we were getting our gear on, he pulled me aside and said he tried to keep up with me at the light, but I just keep pulling away, he said he didn’t think at the time that the performance mods I made and the cost would really make a difference. I said there's only one way for you to find out, take my bike out for a ride. He gave me a look like I was just kidding. Long story I followed him to his house and told him to take it for a ride while I walked home. After some convincing he did. I waited for him at my house (yeah a little nervous, I admit) When he got there and off my bike he smiled and said. I believe! Like night and day! So bottom line is he is getting the V&H exhaust, a K&N for the stock air box and a dealer remap to start with. He had run into a couple of situations In his daily commute that made him wish he had that little extra power, yesterday sealed it.

Bottom line is, there is Bling and then there is Bling that really makes a difference!

Apologize for the long read.
