Clean glue, then rough up the left bar with Emery cloth. Be sure to use at least 3/4 of the glue. When you slid it on you have about 5 seconds (it really is a long time to align if you already have a good idea where you want it) to align, be sure to give it a twist about 1/3 the way in either direction before settling on the spot you want it to stick. | I finally got my Flame grips today, on order since 10/25. Installing the throttle grip was a snap. Follow the instructions and loosen the both cable adjusters first then split the cable/switch box apart two Phillip screws top and bottom. Then remove both cable ends from the grip. Loosen the Phillips end cap screw enough so you get a lot of end play at the screw head, then pull on the chrome bar end and slid the whole rubber bushing and nut out as a whole unit put it aside in case you put back the stock grips. Then just reverse the procedure. I followed the procedure in the quote with the left grip and it works! First loosen the Phillip end cap screw as with the right hand side and remove the whole unit and put aside. I used a small long cleaning blow gun with my compressor. Just lift the end of the old grip and work the cleaning tool in while keeping the air on, work it in and around and before long the grip will come off and in one piece. Mine can be reused again.
