That would be of course, my husband... he decided he wanted to get stock exhaust, not you all are asking, why? who knows, but we find brand new stock exhaust for his bike on ebay for $30, shipped here for a total of $50 - cool, we put it on, and guess what??? the bike is QUIET!! lmao, yes, it is quiet, it is stock! same 80 db warning my bike came with, LOLOLOL- ok, so too quiet...he get some new screaming eagle II tips/mufflers, and OMG what an awesome sound, he says performance is amazing compared to the open straight shots that came off it, and i have NEVER heard a better sound on a bike, deep, rumbly throaty sound- very very cool- oh, the se2 mufflers? 240 plus 75 to put on, ouchh... so new pipes =365 - not toooo bad i guess...

A good biker friend of mine is a Harley engineer. He says the most common mistake that guys make is buying a Harley, and pulling the pipe off and putting the straight shots or drag pipe on. Sure its louder, but you will lose performance. Unless a rejet is done on the fuel mixture power will be lost.

The figure he gave me at the time was 5 plus hp on a 1200 cc sportster. Considering that a 1200 Cc sportster makes about 42 (give or take ) Hp, thats makes about a 8% loss in hp by my crude math. Not to mention torque, a Harley strong suit.

Glad you are happy with your pipes, sounds like a good deal all around.

Doc.
