Default Rode an 883 last night.

Last night after our 150 mile ride, we gathered around the campfire at my friends house. My brother-in-law came over on his newly aquired 1973 1000 Sportster, and he wanted to ride. My bike was safely at home, and I was stuck. My friend has a 2004 1200 Sportster, and his wife has a 2003 883. She said, "Go ahead and take my bike." I said, "Ok." The three of us got the bikes out, and went to pick up a fourth guy. The guy we picked up has a 1973, not sure of the model. It has a 1500cc stroker motor in it, and it flies. Anyway, all four bikes have straight, unbaffled pipes. It was by far the loudest ride of my life, and it was quite fun.

Why this story? Well, I have been contemplating new pipes for my M50. After last night, I don't think I am going to do it. I liked the sound at first, but after a while, I sort of wished it would stop. It was fun cruising by cars that had drivers using cell phones. Anyway, just wanted to share that. If you are thinking about loud pipes, this might help someone to make a decision.

Thanks for this thread.
I have the C50, and I have to agree, I finf my pipes make more than enough noise
for me. I def dont want louder +1 for stock pipes!!
