Default motorcycle jack stand.

1) Could use some info. and recommendations about jack - stands.
Would like to begin working on my C50 but it's a bear when it's leaning on the kick stand.

2) Also, the C50 requires 3.6 quarts of oil when the filter's changed. 3.2 otherwise. By mistake I added a total of 4 - 4.2 quarts when changing the oil and filter. I rode the bike this A.M. with no apparant ill effects. Will this harm the bike or will it purge the excess oil?
Thanks.

Excess oil can cause increased oil pressure and can blow seals. I'm not too sure of the oil threshold on these bikes but I would just drain the extra oil.

I use the Craftsman bike lift. You can normally pick one up for around $70-$90. I do have to roll the front tire up on a 2*6 and put a 2*6 under the side stand to get the lift to roll cleanly under the bike. But that's no problem.

I'm using jack stands for my SV for maintenance.

+1 on the Craftsman lift. I got mine for $69. Comes with that craftsman tool warranty too.

There are others out there but they all have the same specs for much more money.

I may be mistaken, but I think it only has a 1 year warranty. Not the lifetime.

I bought the aluminum one at Sears. Got it on-sale for $149. I was in Sam's Club yesterday and they have a GOODYEAR RACING model for $71. Thinking about taking my Sears one back and getting this.

Here is a picture I found of it. Cheaper at Sam's Club though.

and where are your tie downs?

I got the Goodyear one from Sam's Club -- it is a well made jack and worth the 67 dollars I paid.

I just bought a lift from Harbour Freight yesterday, i looked on the internet site and we have a store in okla city, the store matched the price of 49.99. 1500lb capacity and appears well made.

Hey Matt C. When are you going to take that Kleenex box off the side of that sweet ride of yours? Nice seat.

That Goodyear Racing jack is exactly the same jack as the Sears model I bought for $69. The Goodyear jack does have a spiffier paint job though...
