Default Grips

The only thing i've found on the new bike i don't care for is the grips. It's warm and humid here and my hands get sweaty and slip around on the grips. Any suggestions for a softer rougher or spongy grip, and do they make slip ons or new grips hard to install, including taking the old ones off. Hopefully this isn't a stupid question as I'm a visual person and instructions without picturers sometime confuse me if terms i'm not familiar with are used. Thanks in advance

considering this is the "cruiser" section...im going to go out on a limb and say it s a cruiser!

Kuryaken ISO grips...most people get them for cruisers. they are awesome grips and i had mine within 2 weeks of getting the bike. they make it easier to grip the throttle, they absorb sweat, they look pretty good, and are comfortable.

nuff said.

+1....Pinhy helped sell me on the ISO's a while back, In the mean time, I'm using palm padded fingerless gloves to help with the same issue as yours till I get um.

p.s. About 5-6 bucks at wallyworld/k-mart

Another vote for ISO's. Installation is easy but if you decide to get them, post a note here for some suggestions before putting them on. The left grip can be a little tricky.

I always wear leather gloves. In the summer I wear very light weight ones and in winter I wear insulated leather gloves. Don't have any problems with the grips slipping.

ISO grips, definitely. Check Ebay, there are usually some listed and you can save some money. South florida, where heat and humidity is a way of life, the ISO's are much better than stock. They were my first mod.

Forgot to mention that the bike i'm riding is my new C50 gray/silver in color. Like i mentioned everything but the grips i'm satisfied with, and thats for the recommendations from all. I'll have to check around and look at the various slip ons and the Kuryaken ISO grips that have been mentioned.

If you get the Iso's I'd also suggest you get their Throttle Boss which attaches to the end of the throttle grip. It makes long rides easier.

i hate that thing! i bought it for 15$ and it is so small it barely does anything. i just bought a crampbuster for 11 and it is much better, and can be removed/put back on in seconds. its not as stylish, but it is functional, and that is the important thing.

www.crampbuster.com (you need the oversized one for the ISO's, yellow box)

Love those ISO grips! They are the most comfortable, and best functioning ones I have tried...including those good-looking but functionally useless and down-right dangerous in the rain bullet alluminum/ o-ring things that cost twice as much as the ISOs.

Like the Uechi Kid I also never ride without gloves. I have light perforated gloves for warm weather, medium waterproof for cool or wet weather, and a heavy wind proof set for cold days. I went down once this summer and was very glad to have all the protective gear, walked away without any road rash.

I have the ISO's on my Star, and I like them as well, but dude, no gloves? To each his own, but riding w/out gloves is like ....... riding w/out gloves. If you haven't tried 'em out, do so. Many varieties out there for all weathers.
