Default Changing oil in GZ250

Geez I am a total newb when it comes to bikes. Where is the oil drain plug on an 01 GZ250? Any special way of draining the oil, or is it the same principle as a car? How much does it take? The guy at the Suzuki shop said it takes 4 qts, now I'm a little skeptical of that, but I believed him. The oil filter is located on the right side by where the footpeg is right? That little cover held on by 3 or 4 bolts?

I would try and get one. My Marauder only takes 2.1 litres when I change the filter and 1.7 litres when I don't. Same principle as car change. Remove drain plug, remove filter, replace filter, replace drain plug , fill with oil.

I think Doug was dropped on his head as a kid without a helmet. Best to leave it to the professionals

The GZ 250 has one oil drain plug, on the lowest part of the bottom of the engine. Take it out and drain the bike. Remove the oil filter cover on the side and replace the filter. Put the drain plug back in and put in new oil. I believe the oil capacity in litres is on the engine case next to the oil fill cap.

The girl who bought my GZ 250 also got the manual. When I bought it, there was no manual but the dealer got one for me, it had a price tag reading $5.25.
