| My wife told me that if I quit smoking I could buy a motorcycle, so the next day I quit and last Wednesday I bought an '05 C50 Limited. I am having lots of fun with it, but I need to pick up some sort of eye protection. What is the best to get? For daytime riding is amber or clear better? I wear a helmet, but I am not into the full face thing.

| for daytime use tinted glasses/goggles (whatever your preference, but with a helmet, i would suggest glasses as the goggle strap and a helmet get annoying) for night either clear or amber...my friend doesnt own clear and uses amber at night...he says it is fine. some glasses have interchangeable lenses with all three lenses coming with the kit...those are cool, but i cant find a pair that fit me well. the bottom line is "they have to fit your face so no air gets in your eyes"...never mind about looks or accesories....if they dont fit your face well, you will have air and sand getting in your eyes. . |

| I went to the local HD shop and for less than $30 I got a pair that has interchangable lenses (clear, amber & sunglass) and a strap that clicks into the "arm" of the glasses to make them into goggles. This is good for longer rides at high speed so you are not constantly pushing the glasses back on to your nose.

| i have worn tinted glasses since i started riding...never have a problem with them falling off, have to get a set that fits right. glasses allow better breathing too, so your eyes dont get all "sweaty" and feel like they need air. but goggles offer better (usually) protection since they have more foam and fit tighter.... but like i said, glasses all the time for me and no problems. 7500 miles later... . |

| http://www.motorcycle-eyewear.com/mo...es/gv-la.shtml I have those and use the clear ones in the morning before dawn and the tinted ones in the afternoon with the sun shining brightly. They are excellent glasses for very little money. The foam around the edges keeps dust and various other things out of my eyes even with the visor up or wearing the 3/4 helmet. |

| No one is "into the whole full-face thing" until they try it. It takes a few hours before you're used to it, so don't give it five minutes then trash the idea. Once you're used to wearing one, you'll never go back.

i do notice that with the shield up and glasses on the wind still comes around the galsses and sometimes gets dirt in my eyes (which sucks, of course) .... goggles or something that seals around your eyes would probably be a good idea.
