|  Since this thread is back up, I'll mention that the only lasting cure to my VN900's front brake howling at slow speeds was to replace the stock pads with a pair of Galfer "black". Their website has a pretty good description of materials and performance.

| Gee, I must be lucky. I've had a 1971 250cc, a 1981 550cc, and now my C90T, and I've never had a problem with squeeky brakes. Also, I had 47,000 miles on my 550 before I sold it in a garage sale, and I never even changed the brakes. I must have done something right, but quite honestly, I don't know what!  |
