LOL ... No trophies for me; I think I have gone about 45 miles on my longest ride yet.

And yes, I agree, BK may want to do some kind of promotion around your ride. Positive press is good for BK and for riders. The two-wheeled community needs as much positive press as we can get.

I bet my 600 mile day was tougher than your 1000. We went from Copper Harbor, Michigane to Marathon, Ontario. With cooldown stops it took us about 16 hours. We had 90+ degree heat, road construction, town slowdowns by the dozen, moose, logging trucks, you name it. I'd still rather do that than drone the interstate all day. Not for me, thanks.

I bet my 1450 miles day in my Duallie was easier than both of yours combined....

LOL. I bet it was easier than half of either one.

I used to have to make 900 to 1200 miles trips a day at my last job. No DOT markings, no logs to keep up with other than fuel usage, no weigh station checks, and the fact that it was done with a Duallie and a 16 ft trailer made it as to where my ex-employer would tell me to make these runs and just get a room for a few hours afterwards. He got his money out of me. Then when I had that head-on collision the DOT and workers comp looked into the fuel usage and the dates and they figured out that I was driving sometimes for almost 22 hours straight at times. WEE WEE SLAP!!!!

Now his employees are not required to drive no more than 10 hours,, 12 max unless they VOLUNTEER. He lost a good employee when I quit because I used to like the longer road trips,, the guys he has now will only drive the 10 hours max.

But back to trips,,, I am seriously looking into riding the bike to Daytona for Biketoberfest with my friend. We were going to trailer mine,, but I figured what the heck,, let's do it so we can say we rode to Biketoberfest versus the other.

I'd like to do something like the Iron Butt thing,, not sure how my back would hold up or not.

Go for the ride. The sense of accomplishment is much better than hiding your face every time you pass someone who is riding.

As for the long truck trips - I really don't like the thought of sharing a high-speed roadway with a zombie.

Yeah that's how I always felt. I was supposed to take over the company so I was at his mercy as long as I was working for him. I had always taken notes on what I was going to change when I took over,, first on the list was better scheduling and to start telling customers that they will have an extra day lead time since there were no drivers available to make the trip in the amount of time they wanted us to do it.

I proposed that NUMEROUS times,, but the answer was the corporate answer of today,,"Do what I told you,, if you don't like it then go somewhere else." Which is what I did. Well that idea I had is now a standard since the Goverment and his insurance stepped in and trippled his rates and slapped the wee wee.

Sucked for me, but at least the new guys have it better and the roads are alot safer.
