Default Never got to third gear

I just bought a C50T today. I decided after reading these posts. I have not ridden in 30 years and the rust was thick. Me nor the bike may not survive this. Just wanted you all to know "you talked me into this"

Talked you into buying the bike????? Or do you mean we talked you into taking a refresher course, getting riding gear, getting a good helmet, getting the book "Proficient Motorcycling" by Hough, getting the "Ride like a Pro III" video, getting all the practice you can in subdivisions, parking lots, back roads, etc.?????

Oh,,, no problem!!!!! Welcome to the forum!!!!! Glad to have you here!!!

Welcome.
2 out of 6 does not sound like you have been paying attention.
Uncle Bob will be paying you a visit.
We would like you to stay awhile. Try harder.

I'm a n00b myself. My course is scheduled next month and I have the days off, I devoured "Proficient Motorcycling," I had a helmet before ever logging in (and I'm thinking if I ever consider getting a new one it'll be a full-face helmet). I don't have the other protective equipment yet... but then nor do I have my bike yet.

But "Ride like a Pro III?" I've been paying all kinds of attention on these boards and that's the first I've heard of it.

Do not forget gloves. I have never seen so many riders without gloves as I have in the last few weeks.

Ride Like a Pro III,,, it is by a motorcycle cop in Florida that takes those big Harleys and several other HUGE cruisers and is able to throw them things around cones like the bike is on rails. Lots of trick things but I did practice alot of them and it has helped me to be able to swing my Intruder 1500LC around in the middle of a small two lane road.

If I would have tried something like that when I first got it I would've probably dumped it. It tells you how to maneuver threw tight spots. Turn sharp turns and other procedures.

His website is www.ridelikeapro.com and he has a #1 and a #2,,but just get the #3 becuase it has all the same things as the first two but a few more things as well. I was referred to his website when I first started posting on here and I recommend it. Plus it is just fun to try out the tricks and learn the maneuvers.

Good luck and keep up the learning,, my sig line used to tell it all,, the day you stop learning is the day you die. In other words,, keep an open mind and you will learn something everyday.

From one old guy to another, welcome Larry. I was out of the saddle for 20 years but now the kids are grown, etc. You'll love the C50T Just take it easy and work on your situational awareness and your low speed control first.

It may take a few months to get reacclimated, but once you do, it is well worth it.

Something about that line brought a smile to my face ...

Oh, and Larry ... who are you kidding? Nobody gets talked into riding; you had it in you the whole time; you just never knew it. You can thank us now.

Yeah Dude, You're right! I have had it in my blood since I got my first trike as a toddler.

I'll be taking the course and reading up on some tips from the Pros. I've got some leathers coming and a new helmet. I'm going to zuke me up first, and then the C50T. I'll be trying to keep up with Catherine on the bling!!!

Welcome back, Larry.

It was 35 years for me. Got my C50 the beginning of June and haven't lost the big grin yet.

Keep the shiny side up!

Larry, just don't fall and break your hip or we'll have to shoot you. Have a nice ride.
